The Armorer is one of the few members of the clan to survive. In the first-season finale "Chapter 8: Redemption", the Mandalorian and his allies come to the Mandalorian enclave while fleeing from attacking Imperials, only to find it unoccupied except for the Armorer, following the elimination of most of the tribe.
The "Rust" armorer who last month was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the deadly shooting of Halyna Hutchins, the film's cinematographer, was sentenced in a New Mexico state court today to 18 months' imprisonment.
The Armorer and other followers of the ancient way had been on Mandalore's moon of Concordia, and so survived the onslaught of the Night. The remaining Mandalorians were scattered throughout the galaxy thereafter and hid in Mandalorian coverts to preserve their numbers.

There's some wriggle room in the Armorer's quote: "Death Watch exists no more." She could also be expositing that the Children of the Watch split from Death Watch eons before the Clone Wars. She may have never even been a part of the Death Watch's generation but was educated of her covert's history with them.

Is the Armorer Darth Maul?
Her fervor for the Mandalorian code has inspired and condemned Din Djarin throughout her life. Yet, nothing is really known about The Mandalorian character. One theory contends she may have a deep connection to the Clone Wars: that the Armorer is actually Rook Kast, former follower of Darth Maul.
The Mandalorian star Emily Swallow says Star Wars was a part of the fabric of her childhood. The Armorer has a strong belief in the Mandalorian “way”, which, in part, requires not taking off one's helmet around others. We've never seen your face in the show, and we're imagining there's a chance we never will.
Beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron or Mandalorian steel, was an alloy that was used in Mandalorian armor and was notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of damage. In its purest forms, the metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes.
According to the officials, a pure Beskar armor can resist a temperature of 30000°C. A lightsaber's temperature can only go up to 25000°C. That means one direct hit of the lightsaber cannot cut through the Beskar.
Some have theorized she is Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian warrior and one of the main cast members of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels. Others have argued the horns on her golden helmet and the red color of her armor are references to Darth Maul, a Star Wars antagonist who at one time ruled the Mandalorians.
After the episode aired, a theory started circling the Star Wars fandom that The Armorer was actually an Imperial spy during Season 3. While that proved to ultimately not be the case, here's evidence that made fans believe their theory.
But while Gideon's horns may be a reference, The Armorer's are still unexplained. They may simply be a remnant of the Maul-adjacent extremist Death Watch movement, which she revealed crumbled because of infighting, but they could be a hiding-in-plain-sight indicator that her intentions aren't all they seem.
She recognizes the potential Bo-Katan has, and understands that she can't control her. So rather than try and force Bo-Katan to become something she isn't, the Armorer allows her to remove her helmet.
Eventually, the tension between the two resulted in battles, likely started by the aggressive Mandalorian people. Being brilliant and adaptive, the Mandalorians were able to come up with technology that allowed them to rival the Jedi in power despite not having their own strong connection to the Force.
Boba Fett's armor was inherited from his clone template—or "father"—Jango Fett, who received it from the Mandalorians after he became a foundling. Fett originally bore his armor as a Mandalorian warrior during the Mandalorian Civil Wars, the conflict during which he was given the armor in the first place.
There have been other Mandalorians who have become Jedi, though. The first was Tarre Vizsla, the Mandalorian Jedi who created the Darksaber. Huyang mentions in Ahsoka episode 3 that there have also been few other Mandalorians who have trained to be Jedi in addition to Tarre and Sabine.

Naboo's spacecraft are shown prominently in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, with a striking visual appearance, contrasting sharply with most other vehicles in Star Wars.

The horns on Gideon's helmet are a deliberate nod to Darth Maul and his connection to the Mandalorians, symbolizing Gideon's desire to challenge and mock his enemies.
The Armorer never wanted Din or Bo-Katan to fail — in the end, she wanted the Mandalorian people to succeed just as much as they did. Creating an aura of mystery and the potential of betrayal made both audiences and the show's main characters doubt that The Armorer was really on the right side of things.
Most prominently, the female helmets resemble the designs of Spartan helmets, with rounded eye designs, where the men have the simpler visor. The different styles help viewers distinguish men from women, and helps show the make-up of the Mandalorian forces.
