Action & ViolenceThe books, in my opinion, are far more violent than the movies. There was also more action in the last book than in the movie, especially when Katniss trains before she heads into the Capitol. And there wasn't a meat-grinder or flesh melting pod in Mockingjay — Part 2.
Some parents may find the book "violent" but it is definitely violence with a purpose. A parent or teacher should always look at the message behind the violence. If it is taught correctly, then your child will come out of the book actually advocating for less violence in current and to stop the glorifying of violence.

There is no sex of nudity but there are a few kissing scenes. There is violence but nothing I think a mature 11 year old can't handle. There is also some swearing and drinking but not to much. Definitely recommend it!

In the 74th Hunger Games, Clove was the only Career tribute who came close to killing Katniss twice — at the Bloodbath and at the Feast, and certainly seemed to have a deep hatred for her, perhaps because Katniss received a higher score than her.
