In Tales of the Jedi, set thousands of years before the original Star Wars film, the Mandalorians are a major military power who side with the Sith in their war against the Jedi, and their leader is manipulated by the Sith into triggering a war with the Republic.
The Mandalorian Clans would continually find themselves allied to the Sith as they were now considered the enemy of both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order.
Late in the Clone Wars, Darth Maul took over Death Watch and led the conquest of Mandalore. He executed Satine and installed a puppet prime minister as the planet's new ruler, sparking a new chapter in Mandalore's violent history.
Since The Mandalorian is set around five years after the film, it's set after Darth Vader's death. However, considering it's still a fairly tight time period, the impact of the Empire is still felt, with season 3 exploring the impact on the members of Moff Gideon's crew, Elia Kane and Dr Penn Pershing.

Is Mandalorian after KYLO Ren?
From a viewer's standpoint, on a general scale, The Mandalorian takes place between the time of the Original Trilogy of movies and the Sequel Trilogy. There's a thirty-year gap in there, so it fills in a lot of plot for where the galaxy is at the start of the Sequel Trilogy.
Despite the fact that Grogu acts, walks, and looks like a baby, it is established in the very first "Mandalorian" episode that the green alien is actually 50 years old. It seems Grogu and Yoda's species ages a lot slower than people, which makes sense because Yoda never seemed to age in the "Star Wars" movies.
Maul was a Zabrak from the planet Dathomir. However, though he was not Mandalorian by blood, the fact that he won the Darksaber in battle made him the last wielder before Din Djarin with a legitimate claim to the throne.
At the time of The Mandalorian story, it is pretty clear that Moff Gideon is not a Sith Lord even though he has the Darksaber in his possession nor does he have any links to the Jedi. Moff Gideon is nothing more than one of the Empire's existing bad guys who officially worked for the Imperial Security Bureau.
Is Grogu Yoda? According to the events of "The Mandalorian" so far, Grogu and Yoda are not the same character. They are simply from the same species. The name of this species has never been revealed since "Star Wars" creator George Lucas wanted to give Yoda a sense of mystery.
Grogu Is a Member of Yoda's Force-Sensitive Species
Despite his pop culture sobriquet, he is in fact not the baby version of Yoda. This is due to the fact that the alien toddler is introduced in a series that takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, in which the 900-year-old Yoda passed away.
From something as small as a pauldron, which Din once removed to ease Grogu to sleep in The Mandalorian season 1, to an entire suit of armor as Sabine is seen doing in Ahsoka, a Mandalorian is allowed to remove their armor.
Count Dooku was a Force-sensitive Human male Jedi Master who fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Dark Lord of the Sith, known as Darth Tyranus.
“The Mandalorian” is set between the original film trilogy and the latest sequels. “Andor” is a prequel to “Rogue One,” itself a prequel to “A New Hope.” And the forthcoming Disney+ series “The Acolyte” takes place hundreds of years before the Skywalker saga.
Beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron or Mandalorian steel, was an alloy that was used in Mandalorian armor and was notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of damage. In its purest forms, the metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot and could repel lightsaber strikes.
The answer is simple. One lightsaber strike cannot cut through the Mandalorian Beskar armor or a Beskar weapon. But if a lightsaber stays in touch with it for a longer period, it will melt it.
Given that Grogu, Yoda, and Yaddle are the only known canon members of their species, it makes sense why some would try to draw a connection between the three of them. While Star Wars hasn't disproved the theory, it's highly unlikely that Yoda or Yaddle were Grogu's biological parents.
Given the rarity of his species in the galaxy, along with the fact that the only other two known members of Grogu's species were both living in the Temple when he was born, it seems likely that Grogu is the child of Yoda and Yaddle and was born to help preserve their rare species.
It was believed that Grogu would eventually become a victim of Kylo Ren's destruction of Luke's Jedi Order. However, The Book of Boba Fett revealed that Grogu chose to follow the Way of the Mandalorian rather than become a Jedi, sparing him from Kylo Ren's wrath.
There are certainly scenarios where Darth Vader would have the upper hand in a duel with Yoda, but in most cases, Yoda would be the more likely victor. Vader wields absurd levels of Force power during his dark side prime that would certainly rival Yoda's own abilities, but likely not exceed them.
Why does Disney call Grogu "The Child," and not Baby Yoda? Because “Yoda” is the name of the old Jedi Master who died during the events of Return of the Jedi. It is not the name of that person's species, which has not been named on-screen. Yoda is not, as far as we know, the father of Grogu.
