While the finished product proved to be a decent horror movie, the disgustingly gruesome message found at the center of Split didn't fail to make me feel pretty terrible.
An outstanding film with incredible acting but it's very important not to let any kid under 14 watch it. This film is a psychological horror about a man with DID (disassociated identity disorder) who abducts 3 teenage girls. It is very disturbing especially for kids who don't understand mental disorders.
Violence and scariness are the big issues here. Characters die, women are kidnapped and hurt, and a young girl is abused by her uncle (though there's not a lot of gore or horror, and much takes place off screen).

More than 20,000 people attempted to boycott the film, claiming that it promoted negative stereotypes and provided false connections between mental illness and violence (Davidson, 2017). the lack of acknowledgment of DID in both the public and medical spheres, resulting in insufficient training and research.
"Split" takes a step in this direction by positing that "mental sickness" might not always be an actual illness — but then takes two steps back by exploiting moviegoers' fears that people with unusual mental conditions can be unpredictably violent.
This happiness came to an end when her uncle molested her while they were on a hunting trip together, leaving Casey traumatized. To make matters worse, Casey's uncle, John was the only legal guardian to take care of her after her father passed away.
Split is real enough. The bad guy is a real person with a real disorder portrayed, for the most part, in a very realistic way. For full fright effect, a thriller must go beyond the real into that which is unthinkable outside of the movie theatre. Split achieves the real and the beyond-the-real.

Night Shyamalan's Split drew inspiration from the real life court case of Billy Milligan. Milligan's landmark verdict of not guilty based on Dissociative Identity Disorder still captures public interest today. Shyamalan's portrayal of DID in Split is based on Milligan's case but takes many creative liberties.
Split by M. Night Shyamalan has the following themes that are necessary of a trigger warning: kidnapping, self harm, gore, sexual abuse, physical abuse, violence, needles, and jumpscares. If you're going to see this movie, beware of those aspects.

One that's a old woman one that's a strict man named Dennis and one that's a 9 year old boy that likes to listen to Kanye West ,ect. So Dennis kidnaps three teenage girls to feed the (SPOILER WARNING) Beast . the 26'th personality.
Kevin's more evil personalities, “Dennis” and “Patricia” are awaiting the arrival of “The Beast” which is Kevin's 24th personality and is an animal-like killer who seeks to rid the world of the “impure,” which are those who have not suffered.
While there are no overt sexual scenes, there was definitely an undertone of sexualizing the three teenage girls. Though no nudity was shown, you do see them in various states of undress as they are held against their will.
Kevin's mother was horribly abusive towards him and would beat him constantly over the slightest of things. She was also a bit of a clean freak and demand that kevin clean the house to her ridiculous standards, and if he didn't do it as good as she wanted it, another beating.
So the Beast does indeed emerge – McAvoy becomes ultra strong, his skin gets super hard, he gains the ability to climb impossible walls (somewhat unconvincingly) and his voice gets even creepier. And he does indeed completely eviscerate and eat two of the girls.
Depictions of mental health in Hollywood, in particular, are excessively harmful. The entire premise for Split is ableist and is blatantly apparent in the trailer. We do not even have to see the film to know it is going to be a problem for the mental health disability community.
