La La Land actress Emma Stone is ready to once again play the role of Cruella de Vil for the sequel of the film Cruella. The Oscar-winning actress officially made a deal to play the villain in Cruella 2, making it the second prequel to Disney's 101 Dalmatians. Cruella premiered in theaters and on Disney+ in May.
At the 2022 Oscars, makeup artist Nadia Stacey revealed that the script for the sequel was in the works. Even in 2023, the project is still in its pre-production stage. Considering the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Cruella probably won't begin filming before 2024.
Cruella begins with Estella as a child with black and white hair, something that she was born with due to a disease called poliosis. The condition is caused by a decrease or absence of melanin in the hair on the body, typically resulting in a white streak or splotches in someone's hair.
Both Roger and Anita receive puppies from Cruella, Dalmatians named Pongo and Perdit, respectively. This perfectly aligns with the arc in both versions of 101 Dalmatians, wherein Roger and Anita fall in love, and their dogs give birth to an unnaturally large litter of 15 puppies.
As per a Comicbook report, the makers have set their eye on Taylor Swift to play not just any other part in Cruella 2 but the villain of the film. If you are unaware, the rumours during the first film also said that Swift has a cameo in the first part which was kept a secret.
