Niander Wallace is the first (and so far only) Blade Runner villain to be Pure Evil. Similarly, Wallace is the only Pure Evil villain in a Ridley Scott film that he produced rather than directed.
Niander runs Wallace Corporation following the murder of his father, a company that is solely responsible for the resurgence of Replicants after they were made illegal following the events of the original Blade Runner.

Wallace butchers a newborn replicant, a short-haired woman covered in an ambiguous yellow fluid, scared, trembling and useless to Wallace because she (like all replicants) is barren. She cannot give birth to new replicants.
Because of this memory, K became convinced that he was Rachael and Deckard's child, but was eventually informed by Freysa that he was not and that the child was female. Rachael died giving birth to Ana, sacrificing herself so that her child could live. The 'Rachael' in Blade Runner 2049 is a replicant, created by Wallace to seduce Deckard into spilling any information he has on his child, or the accomplices that assisted him in hiding her.
