Ultimately showing the darker side of Anakin's love, his passionate nature leads him to care for Padme with all of his heart, far in excess of anything else in his life. As such, the mere risk of her dying in childbirth is enough for Anakin to begin desperately searching out ways to save her life.
During their time together on Naboo, they fell in love with each other. When the Anakin confessed his romantic feelings for her, Padmé seemingly turned Anakin down, even going as far to point out that it would be impossible for them to be together because he is a Jedi.
Anakin does not have even the slightest bit of remorse. By the end, he feels nothing but anger. Although he feels regret for killing Padme, he still helps the evil Emperor. The film ends with Anakins standing side by side with the man on whose behalf he has committed all his crimes.
If Anakin had never fell in love with Padmé, he would've never turned to the Dark Side because it was his fear for losing Padmé and his two unborn children which caused him to be easily seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. It was his fear which made it much easier for Palpatine to manipulate Anakin.
Anakin truly did care for Padme, except Anakin was not at all in his right mind when he choked her. Anakin has many issues, he has tramua both from war and childhood, he has sever fear of loss and he is extremely loyal to the ones he chooses to befriend. This all comes into play in this moment when he chokes her.

The story is Anakin was manipulated to the dark side by Palpatine based on fears of losing Padme and appeals to his desire power and agency, over his life and the galaxy as a whole.

Finally, the funeral of Natalie Portman's Padmé Amidala is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire Star Wars saga. Padmé dies of a broken heart because of Anakin's fall to the dark side, and her funeral sees her laid in a bed of flowers.
Darth Vader awakens, and his first question is about the whereabouts of Padmé. Palpatine tells Darth Vader that in his anger he killed her, placing the blame for Padmé's death on Vader. Vader denies it, saying he sensed Padmé was still alive, which the audience knows she was as Obi-Wan escaped on the ship with her.
The intense, agonizing yearning Anakin and Padmé have for each other is romance 101. Take Anakin's "From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you.
This time jump makes Padmé a very mature 24 years old, while Anakin is still a Jedi Padawan and teenager at the age of 19. This formidable time in their lives is when the romance between the two sparks, so the age difference between Padmé and Anakin doesn't hold them back.
To me, Luke is far more like Padme in his general demeanor. He's more quiet, intelligent, and dignified. At his best, there's a warmth radiating from his eyes when he speaks. A kindness that, even with the PT's flaws, you can see in Natalie Portman's performance.
Obi-Wan's explanation was that she dies because she lost the will to live. People have said that it didn't make sense, after all, she just got her children. But she knew that Luke and Leia would be taken care of, and Obi-Wan would make sure of it.
Even if he still desired to do good, his anger had corrupted him to the point of no return. And this anger was amplified even further once he believed he caused Padme's death, as now he had nothing but a deep hatred for himself and everything around him.
What he did not see, at the time at least, was that Padmé used her last breaths to tell Obi-Wan that she was certain that in regards to her husband, "there's still good in him." Now, those words are set to be revealed to someone other than Darth Vader himself.
At some point after his transformation into the armored Darth Vader, Amidala's husband, the fallen Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker came to visit the mausoleum, stricken by grief and remorse for his part in her death.
Throughout this meeting between the two it's moody, mysterious, and foreboding. As soon as she says "I'm pregnant", this ominous violin starts as Anakin struggles to say anything positive. He stumbles over his words and seems to force a smile. Even as he's comforting Padme, the music doesn't seem very promising.
While Force healing could have saved Padmé, material from both continuities explains why Anakin couldn't use it. The Force is a fundamental omnipresent energy that can be used as “powers” by those who are trained to tap into it. One such power is healing oneself or another at an enhanced speed.
The final season of The Clone Wars reveals that freaking Darth Maul was aware that Anakin Skywalker would directly lead to the downfall fo the Jedi and the destruction of the Republic. Maul wasn't aware of these things because Palpatine slipped him a note, he, like other Force-users, saw into the future.
