Who is the biological mother of Jason Todd?
Origins. Jason Todd was the son of Willis Todd and Dr. Sheila Haywood, although his mother was forced to relinquish his custody when Willis married Catherine Todd. Catherine was a drug addict and died from an overdose, while his father had once worked for Two-Face and was murdered by the criminal.
Following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, Jason's backstory was rebooted. He was now a street orphan living on the east end of Gotham City. But his time before not having parents was no picnic.

In the movie, much like in the comic that inspired it, we learn that Bruce has taken in three very different orphan children, who assist him on his travels and with his studies. They're not Robins, and that's not exactly unusual—Bruce's children aren't always Robins.

Boomstick: Nightwing is an expert in nearly all martial arts, but so was Red Hood, so Nightwing couldn't hope to beat him in a straight-up fist-fight. Plus, Red Hood is no stranger to brutal beatdowns, meaning that more would have to be done to bring him to heel.
