As an adult she constantly weighed about 117 to 120 lbs. Her measurements were: 34–22–35. Her dress size in 1945 was 12, which is equivalent today to dress size 6 to 8 (yes, 1945 dress sizes are the same as today's 6 to 8).
While these documents suggest that her weight was a constant 117-120lbs, she was actually much heavier during the late 1950s, for example, the Some Like It Hot premiere on March 29, 1959 (below). Some have speculated she weighed close to 140 lbs at this point.
The only factor to be aware of is that a modern day size 12 and a size 12 in the 1950s/1960s are very different things. On average, women probably had maybe 5 every day dresses and maybe 3 “church” dresses and one or two pairs of dress shoes. They probably owned a couple of pairs of casual shoes and only a few tops and pants and a couple of purses.
Marilyn Monroe did have an extreme hourglass shape, according to a dressmaker who listed these measurements: Height: 5 feet, 5½ inches. Weight: 118-140 pounds. Bust: 35-37 inches.
