It is believed that IT's real desire is to consume all life on a planet, leaving it barren when the creature moves on. The being doesn't have to just eat humans, too, but it is the preferred sustenance of IT, especially when they are fearful as the terror provides extra flavor.

Why was Beverly's fear blood?
To put it bluntly, the blood Bev sees is period blood. She is afraid of going through puberty and becoming a woman. She fears this because of her abusive, misogynistic father and the fact that boys and men already sexualize her.
He slaps and punches Beverly but also sexually abuses her by masturbating over her while putting her to bed. He works as a janitor. Al sees himself as a man with “no vices” because he does not drink or commit infidelity. In addition to being abusive, he is misogynistic.
If you're a Stephen King mega-fan, then chances are you've already seen the new It adaptation more than once since its September 8th release. You've also probably read all of King's horror novels, including The Dark Tower series, which reveals that Pennywise's archenemy is The Turtle.

IT (2017)- Pennywise is seeing drooling many times throughout the movie. This was not an effect. Bill Skarsgård had to have prosthetic teeth in that made him drool excessively in many scenes.
One of Pennywise's most recognizable features though is his ridiculously large head. My theory is that he's got such a big head because when he first came up with his Pennywise shape, he was basing his appearance on the humans that he had spent most of his time with: infants.
Yup! He's a demon and the general idea is if you are not scare, it will only be harder for Pennywise to kill you as he needs to bait you. He can kill you if he wants to anytime and doesn't care. Although, if you are not scared, he will either leave you be for a little while or just kill you in the instant .
Pennywise the Clown is not a clown at all. The Pennywise the clown origin story sees an ancient, evil being that is perhaps as old as the universe itself. In the novel, however, the entity IT/Pennywise has a real name — Bob Gray. Bob Gray isn't human, however, and shares the same origin as IT.
Throughout Stephen King's It, Pennywise is referred to as a male, but author Stephen King pulled a fast one on readers in the It book ending by revealing the creature's true form was a pregnant spider, implying that it is, in fact, biologically female.
Georgie Elmer Denbrough is a fictional character created by Stephen King from his 1986 epic horror novel It. Georgie is the younger brother of Bill Denbrough, and falls prey to Pennywise the Clown. He is used by Pennywise to taunt Bill throughout the novel.
Both being interdimensional entities, their powers are at the same level, meaning that the turtle could kill IT if it wanted to. It makes sense that IT is afraid of Maturin – but the viewers and readers also have genuine grounds for cosmic terror.
Twenty-seven years after their first showdown with the murderous clown, the now-grown members of the Losers' Club converged on Derry to defeat Pennywise forever. In their final battle, the Losers' Club was able to kill Pennywise by reducing him to a child-like form as they overcame their fears.
Pennywise was always evil - or, more accurately, he never really existed. He was just a creation of IT to lure in children so they could be terrified and then eaten. Or so that IT could create chaos, incite riots and spread fear.
She is the daughter of Pennywise and was brought up by him and incorporated into all of his evil ideas. She's a part of the whole thing. It's a transformation.”
Beverly's father can't see any of the blood in the bathroom. On one level, this is because he's an adult; a major theme of It is that the innate power of childhood and ability to remember childhood fears serve as a crucial weapon against It.
As deep a connection as Bill and Beverly have, morally, it makes both of them look bad. While Bev was Bill's childhood crush, he's been happily married to wife Audra for many years and is back with her by the end of the story. Committing adultery isn't the best thing for the hero of a tale to do.
