An outstanding film with incredible acting but it's very important not to let any kid under 14 watch it. This film is a psychological horror about a man with DID (disassociated identity disorder) who abducts 3 teenage girls. It is very disturbing especially for kids who don't understand mental disorders.
Split was met with criticism over how Shyamalan portrayed DID as a stereotype and violent. The National Alliance for Mental Illness describes DID as, “an involuntary escape from reality characterized by a disconnection between thoughts, identity, consciousness and memory.”
While there are no overt sexual scenes, there was definitely an undertone of sexualizing the three teenage girls. Though no nudity was shown, you do see them in various states of undress as they are held against their will.
Depictions of mental health in Hollywood, in particular, are excessively harmful. The entire premise for Split is ableist and is blatantly apparent in the trailer. We do not even have to see the film to know it is going to be a problem for the mental health disability community.
Kevin keeps the girls in an abandoned basement where his numerous identities are revealed to them. Towards the end of the movie, the final identity Kevin takes on is a vicious beast that climbs walls, deflects bullets, and ultimately kills two of the abducted girls with his bare hands.
Kevin's mother failed to protect him from abuse and neglect, either due to her own damaged state or her lack of interest in fulfilling her role as a caregiver [1]. Her abusive behavior and neglectful actions contributed to Kevin's trauma and likely exacerbated his psychological struggles.

However, it's always good to be vigilant and stay in the more populated areas as quiet, less busy areas can have a higher risk of petty crime.

Earlier in the film via flashbacks, we learn that Casey had been getting sexually abused by her Uncle John (Brad William Henke) ever since she was five years old. The abuse continued for years, as John became Casey's legal guardian after her father passed away.
To set the record straight and counter the bad and the weird parts of Split: The person with DID is not a monster, nor does he or she host a monster inside. The Incredible Hulk stuff like super-human size, strength, and speed, is the stuff of movies and comic books, not the real world.
When Dennis takes one victim (Sula) into a private room, Casey whispers to the girl to “pee on yourself” as a defensive strategy. Given Dennis's germaphobia, the ploy works, although it soon becomes evident that sex slavery is not on the table.
And in the present of the ending, Dennis/the Beast's thinking is crystallized because they chose the other two girls to be food; they were 'impure' due to the fact that they never 'suffered' in life. Their untroubled childhoods and happiness were why he stalked and ultimately killed them.
The Beast is a cannibalistic monster with super strength and other abilities, who believes that those who haven't suffered are "impure". Casey was able to survive her encounter with him was due to her past trauma, which makes her pure.
While the finished product proved to be a decent horror movie, the disgustingly gruesome message found at the center of Split didn't fail to make me feel pretty terrible. The concept of the film is relatively straightforward. Written and directed by The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable creator M.
3) Your trauma is your superpower. This is the main theme of Split, and to be honest, it's a troubling one. It's voiced most clearly at the end, by a (literal) predator, who tells Casey that she is pure because of what she's endured at the hands of others.
In several sequences of the film, a young girl is implied to be abused several times. A pretty bloody and big wound is clearly behind the protagonist's leg. Pretty graphic. Extremely gory near the end with guts and results of shotgun blasts are seen.
