Daredevil has used five costumes in the course of his career as a crime fighter: an all black prototype costume, his original yellow-and-black costume, his modern red costume, a black-and-red armored costume that was used temporarily, and a newer black-and-red costume which was used during the Shadowland saga.
As early as DAREDEVIL (1964) #7, Matt switched to his classic costume—a tight scarlet costume with a matching cowl—which became his defining super hero uniform for decades.
Wally Wood introduced Daredevil's modern red costume in issue #7, which depicts Daredevil's battle against the far more powerful Sub-Mariner, and has become one of the most iconic stories of the series.

History. According to Stick, "Black Sky" was a weapon, "the bringer of shadows," which he was tracking down in Japan. It was moved by a Japanese criminal organization to America, to be received by Nobu. Stick enlisted the help of Matt Murdock to stop them.
Frank's nickname for Matt is "Red", due to the color of the Daredevil suit. Matt and Karen are the only characters Frank truly opens up to about his traumas, leading them both to develop soft spots for the humanity of a man that no other characters see.
In the comics, the yellow suit was initially a tribute to his father's boxing robe (from which he made the costume) being yellow, in the Netflix Show the robe was also yellow, so this could be the main reason, but it's a little weird if that's the case, because we had 3 seasons and Matt never even thought about this.
3 Crime Scene Forensics. Daredevil's heightened senses allow him to examine his surroundings. At a crime scene, he can smell chemicals in the air, the copper of spent bullet casings, or the metal in blood that was spilled.
Armored Suit: Daredevil donned a heavily armored suit after his red suit was destroyed in battle against the Wild Pack. He would later wear it to fight Hellspawn.
The costume's overall design, the helmet's look, and more are directly pulled from Daredevil and what Charlie Cox wore before. Audiences will notice that the suit is now red and yellow instead of red and black. The color switch is a callback to the comics where Daredevil wears a black and yellow costume for some time.
Mental Illness: Melvin Potter's intellect is focused primarily towards inventing, but his gift comes at a price. He is emotionally vulnerable, and has demonstrated child-like mood swings when threatened.
When Daredevil's identity is outed to the press by an assistant of Ben Urich, Murdock fakes his death. Karen and Foggy later find Matt still alive, in a state of stupor, in his yellow Daredevil uniform but without the mask. Foggy finally realizes Matt's secret identity. They reconcile and become law partners again.
I have always loved superheroes, and Daredevil, who is blind, captured my attention long ago. The main character, Matt Murdock (Daredevil), became blind after an incident involving a chemical spill when he was a child. The accident gave him superhuman senses and the ability to navigate the world in a different way.
He kept the red in the suit as an accent and made the eyes red to give him a more fearful look. The new costume was meant to move Daredevil from neighborhood hero up to the big leagues.
Assassination. A young boy in Japan known as "Black Sky" was discovered by the Hand. They transported Black Sky to New York City in an Asano Robotics shipping container while Nobu Yoshioka watched closely. Moments after Black Sky arrived, the group was attacked by Stick and the man in the mask.
His thoughts further explain that he can hear heartbeats, recognize anyone by smelling their perfumes and odors, taste how many grains of salt are in food, and feel how many bullets there are in a revolver due to its weight. In a few panels, Lee even reveals Matt can distinguish colors apart purely by touch.
In Marvel Comics, Murdock fashioned his prototype Daredevil suit out of the boxing materials of his father, Jack, turning his trunks, boots, and robe into his superhero outfit. The Marvel vigilante's yellow costume served as a fitting tribute to his father, honoring the man that he looked up to growing up.

The suit provided Daredevil with enhanced protection, however the original prototype was incomplete and not properly refined. The red areas on the suit could only protect against knives depending on the angle, while the black parts which were bullet resistant and would offer significantly more protection.
