Addressing a scene in which Scar talks to - what looks like - a lion's skull, the investigator has self-confirmed that Scar did in fact eat Mufasa after he died. With over 4,000 retweets and 8,000 likes, it has captured the imagination of The Lion King fans. One person commented: "I've never been this shocked!"
He hated that their father (Ahadi) chose Mufasa to be his successor, so Taka (as Scar was known then), plotted first to make Mufasa look like an idiot/not fit to rule, and later (when Simba was born, pushing Scar down the line of succession), plotted to kill Mufasa.
Why does Scar have a Scar on his eye in The Lion King?
Scar is nicknamed Scar because he has a scar over his eye (obviously). According to the 'Lion King' novel series (yup there's a 'Lion King' novel series!) he got that scar after a confrontation involving a wildebeest and his brother Mufasa. He requested to go by 'Scar' because he's a bit of a drama king.
But first, Scar would need to kill Mufasa, which he did by throwing him from the side of a cliff into a stampede of wildebeests. Mufasa's death was truly heartbreaking, though apparently, it wasn't that original, as Scar had done the exact same thing to someone else just days before: Zuhour, the hyena queen.
Ok the opening narration of Lion Guard mentions he “destroyed” his guard in a bid for power and was stripped of the roar as a result. Bare in mind 'destroyed' is likely a family way of saying he murdered them.
Though the venom in his scar may have influenced his evil nature, Scar was already proven to be envious and power-hungry before being infected as he was willing to work with another lion to overthrow Mufasa as king due to his jealousy.
However, when Mufasa died in a wildebeest stampede, Scar assumed the throne, and Zazu was driven from the pride. Despite his banishment, Zazu continued to report on the state of the Pride Lands to Mufasa's widow, Sarabi, and helped Nala escape the Pride Lands to find help.
Mufasa's body could've been brought to Pride Rock and buried potentially, or it could've been left in the wild to decay naturally. There's also no way of knowing that the skull Scar plays with is Mufasa's, as it could be the skull of another cat-like creature or one of an entirely different lion.
Simba's fault as a character isn't that he killed his dad (because, as we know, he didn't), it's his lack of responsibility. He stayed in the jungle, refusing to go back home to his mother, even when presented with evidence (Nala) of how bad it got without him.
Scar's real name is Taka, a Swahili word meaning 'dirt' or 'rubbish'. From the book 'The Lion King: Six New Adventures' and Askari which means 'police' according to The Lion King Guard. In the book, Taka leads a plan to undermine his brother in the eyes of their father and win the throne.
Scar is definitely younger than Mufasa, though not by much because they had to at least have a chance for closeness. I think a 2-year age gap makes sense. 38 when he kills Mufasa, and 48 when he dies. Timon is tricky, since he and Pumbaa never seem to age.
But of course, Scar is the one who orchestrated the stampede in the first place—and so, after sinking his claws into his brother's paws, the film's villain murmurs four immortal words: “Long live the king.” With that, he pushes Mufasa to plummet to his doom.
His own brother, Scar, was loath to challenge him because of his physical strength and had to resort to an alliance with the hyenas to defeat him. Unlike his son, Simba, Mufasa was far more tolerant of his enemies and strove to forgive.
Having said all that, it's within Scar's character to keep Mufasa's skull around as a trophy so that skull he was playing with could well be his bro's and he simply collected it after the hyenas had their fill of Mufasa's corpse or something.
Scar was born to the reigning monarch of Pride Rock. He had an elder brother named Mufasa. In his youth, Scar fell in love with Sarabi, but she chose to become mates with Mufasa instead.

If you pay close attention to the movie, Scar actually confirms he and Mufasa aren't birth brothers—but it's subtle.
However, Jones notes that sometimes lions can actually eat other lions, and that Scar seems to hold a skull that looks oddly like that of a lion in the scene where Zazu sings to him. So the natural deduction here is that Scar ate Mufasa, then kept his brother's skull as a keepsake.
Scar sets up Mufasa to be killed by a herd of stampeding wildebeests. Simba survives, but sees his father's death. Traumatised by the events and blaming himself, he disappears from the Kingdom and everyone he loves.
Mufasa's most trusted advisor, Zazu is a prim and proper Hornbill bird with a sense of personal dignity. Although Zazu's feathers can be ruffled, he is dedicated to Mufasa. The honourable hornbill would give his right wing for the 'Lion King', and stays with the pride through good times and bad.
Furious at Mufasa for making a mockery of him, Scar decided to do whatever it took to overthrow his brother and claim the title of king for himself. Scar uses the Roar of the Elders to kill his Lion Guard. Over time, Scar let his power and ambitions get to his head.
