Trivia. In the Child's Play comic series, Karen is sent to a state hospital because the police did not believe her story of Chucky and Mike and Jack refused to back her up. After supposedly killing the doll once again, she is arrested and put on trial for murdering her psychiatrist, which in reality was Chucky's doing.

There were many rumors about why Catherine Hicks didn't reprise her role as Karen Barclay in the sequel with the popular being that she was pregnant by her husband Kevin Yagher who operated the animatronic Chucky doll, but the simple fact was that the director John Lafia wanted to take the story in a new direction.
After she gets separated from Andy, one of the Chucky dolls tricks Kyle into triggering a bomb set by Tiffany, presumably killing her. Why is Andy adopted in Child's Play 2?
This sequel picks up two years after the original in which young Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) was tormented by Chucky, the killer-possessed doll trying to transfer his soul into the child's body. With his mother traumatized, Andy is sent to live with a foster family.
(played by Catherine Hicks) - Andy's mother, and later Mike's wife. She buys him a Good Guy doll for his birthday unaware that the one she picked was possessed by a serial killer.
Child's Play 2 (1990) does make her fate seem dark, however. She didn't back off from sticking to Andy's claims of a killer doll, causing the two to be separated. Little Andy is left with a framed photo of them in happier times. He goes into the foster care system while his mom is institutionalized.
Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray (born May 1, 1957) is the main antagonist of the Child's Play horror franchise. Chucky is portrayed as a vicious serial killer who, as he bleeds out from a gunshot wound, transfers his soul into a "Good Guy" doll and continuously tries to transfer it to a human body.

It's possible that Chucky didn't actually love Sarah and was just using her as an experiment to see how families work. Chucky's main goal was to start a family with Tiffany but he didn't know how families worked which is why he needed an observation to see how families work by using Sarah.
The film became notorious in the United Kingdom when it was suggested it might have inspired the real-life murder of a British child, James Bulger, suggestions rejected by officers investigating the case.

After her husband's funeral, she is kidnapped by Charles, but manages to call the police. Charles angered by her rejection, pulls out a knife and stabs her in the stomach before fleeing the oncoming police. Because she was pregnant with Nica, his actions cause her to be paraplegic.
The Colonel's final words. The Colonel (2021 – 2022) was a Good Guy doll possessed by a piece of the original Chucky's soul. He believed himself to be the supreme Chucky and murdered many others, taking Andy Barclay as a hostage and becoming a cannibal by eating parts of him.
