Peeta, Johanna, and possibly Annie were held in adjacent cells. As part of their torture, they were forced to listen to each other's screams. Johanna was starved, beaten, had her head shaven, and she was soaked with water and tortured with electric shocks. This caused her to develop a fear of water.
At the end of the 75th Games, Peeta is captured by the Capitol and hijacked to believe that Katniss is an evil muttation. He manages to fall in love with her all over again during the end of the war and the years afterward. Eventually, Katniss realizes that she is also in love with him, and they have two children.
Johanna was captured by the Capitol but was rescued by District 13. When she came back she had hydrophobia, or fear of water. Johanna was not present in the invasion of the Capitol because she could not overcome her fear of water. After, Johanna went home to District 7.
What happened to Peeta and Johanna after Catching Fire?
Six tributes in total survive the 75h Annual Hunger Games: Enobaria, Beetee, Finnick, Peeta, Katniss, and Johanna. Katniss, Finnick, and an injured Beetee are rescued by the rebel forces. On the other hand, Enobaria, Johanna, and Peeta are captured by the Capitol and imprisoned.
Peeta, after weeks of treatment (he was presumably in the Capitol for about five to six weeks total), was still able to resist the effects. He warned Katniss Everdeen of the Capitol's plans to attack her, even though his memories about her had been hijacked.

What did Snow do to Johanna?
Johanna Mason was the axe wielding victor of the 71st Hunger Games from District 7. Snow would later orchestrate the slaughter of her entire family as punishment for her defiant nature.
Like Katniss, Peeta ended up back in District 12, which was still recovering after being firebombed. By that point, Peeta greatly recovered from the brainwashing, but he still had PTSD from having his mind hijacked. Being in close proximity to Katniss was greatly beneficial as they relied on each other to heal.
Peeta later explained to Katniss that Johanna did this to get a reaction, since she and the other tributes obviously saw Katniss as being the most "pure" of the Victors.
The female Morphling, however, appears almost coincidentally, and Peeta even mentions that they don't know her real name. Given that she is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Peeta, it's safe to assume that the Morphling was committed to the rebel cause.
Toward the end of the novel, Katniss realizes that Haymitch has been keeping information from her and using her to help the rebellion, causing her to feel extremely betrayed. On the other hand, his goals are generally good ones.

The following year after Lucy Gray Baird's victory, another female tribute emerged as the Hunger Games winner. Mags Flanagan became the first victor from District 4, living off of nuts and her survival skills by creating fishhooks. She was also the first victor to move to Victor's Village before serving as a mentor.
In the case of Johanna, they each hated each other because that was what the Capitol had taught them to do. They were from competing Districts, and the idea of the Games was to keep the lesser citizens of Panem distrustful of one another and unwilling to form alliances (or raise arms in war).
While a prisoner of the Capitol, Peeta was hijacked into believing that Katniss was not human, but in fact one of the Capitol's mutts. Conversely, Johanna Mason suggested that the Capitol's torture replaced Peeta with an "evil-mutt version" of himself. This sentiment was later echoed by Katniss.

Yes, Katniss did develop an addiction to the morphling, on account of constantly being sedated with it, however, I wouldn't say that she was an addict. An addict is someone who goes to a substance (or whatever their 'poison' may be) under their own mind.
Johanna Mason developed an addiction to morphling while hospitalized in District 13 for the torture she endured in the Capitol. When she was weaned off, she instead dipped into Katniss's supply.
Chaff, of course, comes right out and kisses Katniss, though his reason is more to have fun with Katniss's image than to turn it to his advantage. Finnick's and Johanna's tactics, however, are clearly deliberate attempts to manipulate Katniss, and Katniss immediately distrusts both as a result.
While the Hunger Games film never talked about it, the Catching Fire novel explained why she could only communicate through hand gestures. Katniss briefly mentioned that a previous stroke could have caused Mags' garbled speech. However, post-traumatic stress disorder could have also caused her speech incapacity.
