I personally find Crucio actually the most effective of the 3 unforgiveable curses with Imperio being the 2nd most useful. Avada Kedavra I find actually the most difficult due to the insanely long cooldown on it basically necessitating Crucio mastery and the mastery for it.

Nevertheless, while the impact of Avada Kedavra was unforgettable, Crucio was far more deadly than that, and Imperio as it could make a victim beg for death solely to stop the pain.

The curse spells are tied to Sebastians quest line, if you turn it down and still get the next ones then you can, otherwise nope. I would accept crucio. it has no negative impact on your game. They make it seem serious, but it is not.
Is there a downside to using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy?
The only real downside to using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy is that it makes no sense in relation to the game's protagonist. Based on the way the fifth-year character acts throughout the story, some unsavory actions and dialogue may start to seem over-the-top or out of place.
Teach me the Cruciatus Curse and I'll cast it on you. The major choice here is whether the player will learn Crucio or not at this point in the game (it can still be learned later on). The choice of whether you or Sebastian casts it has no effect on the main story.
This game has 3 different endings, with the first 2 being completely meaningless in terms of both story progression and post-game playthrough. The first 2 endings are obtained after defeating the final boss of the game.
In the Bad Ending, your character again struggles to handle the Ancient Magic unleashed by Ranrok's defeat, but instead of getting help from Professor Fig, you absorb some of that magic into yourself. Gaining an extra burst of strength, your character is then able to seal away the remainder of the magic on their own.
Are there consequences for using dark magic in Hogwarts Legacy?
Dark spells in Hogwarts Legacy have additional benefits, such as causing a Cursed status on enemies and breaking through protective barriers. Using dark magic in Hogwarts Legacy has minimal negative consequences, primarily damaging the student's reputation and receiving disapproval from certain characters.
The first time you can learn Avada Kedavra is at the end of the "In the Shadow of the Relic" quest. If you said no the first time, you'll have the opportunity to learn the killing curse from Sebastian later, depending on whether you snitched on him.
Visiting Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy is only an option for players who chose a particular House at the start of the game, and it is only a very brief and linear visit, but it's still exciting to see and walk around such a storied locale, even briefly.
In the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2, Molly first hits Bella with a spell that freezes her, most likely Petrificus Totalus. Then, she launches another one that shatters her entire body into pieces, which could be expelliarmus, bombarda, stupefy, or any spell that can produce such an effect.
