When opening a hatch leading to the next room, Jason and Ben are contaminated by a hallucinogenic substance. Ben finds the antidote injection intended for one recipient and the two fight to the death. Jason breaks Ben's leg but is killed on impact when Ben kicks him into a table corner.
Jason then attacked Ben and the two fought over the antidote. For all his talk about survival of the fittest, Jason failed to seize the antidote and Ben killed him by bashing his head against the wall.
After Zoey escapes to the original location where she finds Ben in an ambulance, it is revealed that Claire was evil all along. When she was younger, she tried to be as evil as possible in an attempt to see if her parents truly loved her as she is.
Zoey and Ben actually survive the ordeal, but it doesn't end there. Zoey returns to the site with the police, but there's nothing there. There are no remains of the rooms.
What happens at the end of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions? After escaping rooms including electrocution, quicksand and acid rain, Zoey (Taylor Russell) is left as the only survivor.

Why escape room 2 has two endings?
Not only does the Escape Room 2 alternate ending reduce the near-supernatural omnipotence of Minos effectively by making the movie more about Claire, but it also very directly sets up the antagonist for Escape Room 3.
Amanda Harper (Deborah Ann Woll) and the Therapist (Lucy Newman-Williams) are only present in the Theatrical Cut. The Extended Cut introduces. There are two endings to this movie, in the theatrical version Amanda Harper shows up.
Because in the case of Escape Room 2, the alternate version is totally different to the one released in cinemas, with a brand-new ending and one major character cut from it completely. Spoilers are ahead for both versions of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, so be warned if you haven't seen the movie yet.
A French woman, Anna, took pity on her and she spent the night at her house. Anna counsels Tara about her life and tells her to try and change her life with her husband, but if that does not work, then do it without him. Mark has travelled to Paris, and Tara goes to meet him. They embrace.
Her father kept her locked in a room and presented her ideas as his own. Fortunately for Zoey and Ben, this means that Claire built something into the quicksand room that meant Ben survived.
The group fish out a key encased in a cube of ice. Danny attempts to retrieve Ben's lighter to melt the cube but falls into the ice with the lighter and drowns. The group are distraught at the loss of Danny and alarmed at how calculated his death was, noting he fell into the ice when he grabbed the lighter.
Minos is the faceless corporation that designs deadly escape rooms for the entertainment of their gambling clients. Each of their rooms has a series of cameras watching the players, and presumably, both the game master and gamblers can watch the action unfold.
Some rooms, through songs playing, coats, and hospital beds, remind the players of them being sole survivors of various disasters; Mike escaped a mine cave-in, Zoey survived a plane crash, Danny survived when his family died of carbon monoxide poisoning, Amanda survived an IED blast, Jason survived a shipwreck in ...
This is an early clue to a twist in the third act, when it's revealed that Amanda's death by falling was an illusion and she has been in Minos' grip ever since. After falling down the long shaft from the pool room with the collapsing floor, Amanda landed on a mattress instead of the hard ground.
The others tried to reach a pool cue over to Amanda in a vain effort to save her, but the phone wire snapped from Amanda's weight and she fell into the pit to her death. OBS! This is only in the universe of the extended version of Escape room 2 - No way out. We learn in the theatrical cut that Amanda in fact survives!
Can I play a room twice? We won't tell you that you can not play, however we would prefer that you book a different experience so that the others players in your group can still be able to have their "Ah-ha! Moments" that make escape rooms so much fun.
Stitch Face murders Jeff with a pair of scissors. Stitch Face stabs Angie in her head a short time later. Ben and Jess realize they must solve the escape room in order to get away from Stitch Face. Brice tells his receptionist Mollie about the box he took from the antique store.
Logan Miller: I definitely think that Ben has a true love for Zoey in a friendship way but also potentially in a romantic way. We maybe explore that a little bit in the movie, but then it gets to a point where we get thrown into the lion's den pretty rapidly, so there isn't really much space to explore that.
Zoey has been in therapy following the ordeal with the last escape room. She and Ben have tried to make trips to Manhattan, but Zoey has been too terrified to fly, and she is still haunted by witnessing people like Amanda (Deborah Ann Woll) die during the last “game”.
