The film is set six years after Bride of Chucky and follows a young doll named Glen, the son of Chucky and Tiffany, resurrecting his parents, causing chaos.
You see, in 1998's Bride of Chucky, cinema's most deranged couple welcomed the arrival of their first and only child — Glen/Glenda — a tortured soul from the moment they were borne from their dying mother in the Hackensack Cemetery.
Glen is a child of the killer dolls, but is the complete opposite of their parents as they are against violence. They were born with a twin sibling, who for some reason remained dormant in their body.
The child identifies as a girl to their mother and a boy to their father, a bit thoughtfully attributed to their self-projections and indiscernible genitalia. Chucky and Tiffany name their child Glen and Glenda, respectively, a nod to Ed Wood's eponymous 1953 trans drama.
But it takes someone as talented as Lachlan Watson to play two people who used to be one doll. That's the challenge the nonbinary actor faced when horror filmmaker Don Mancini approached them about playing both Glen and Glenda, the offspring of Chucky and Tiffany first introduced in 2004's Seed of Chucky.

Did Chucky have a girlfriend?
Tiffany Valentine, portrayed by horror icon Jennifer Tilly, made her first on-screen appearance in 1998's Bride of Chucky. Canonically speaking, though, she was actually the girlfriend of Charles Lee Ray before he became a killer doll.
In order to get Glen's soul into a human body, Chucky's semen is inserted by Tiffany into Jennifer so she can bear a child for Glen to use. As the two awake the next morning, unaware of the events of the night before, Jennifer suddenly experiences morning sickness and realizes that she is pregnant.
In the film, Chucky and Tiffany meet a doll who believes themself to be their child. Chucky insists the child is a boy and should be called Glen, while Tiffany argues that they're a girl and should be named Glenda.
After she angers him, Chucky kills Tiffany, and transfers her soul into a female doll. The duo then goes on a cross-country rampage, during which they have sex.
After her husband's funeral, she is kidnapped by Charles, but manages to call the police. Charles angered by her rejection, pulls out a knife and stabs her in the stomach before fleeing the oncoming police. Because she was pregnant with Nica, his actions cause her to be paraplegic.
Now going by "Tiffany Ray", Tiffany plans to transport her soul into the body of Jennifer Tilly (who happens to be playing her in the film). They also plan to impregnate her and put Glen's soul in the baby's body. Their plan is successful, as Jennifer swiftly gives birth to two babies, a boy and a girl.
When Nica asks Chucky what his motive is, he reveals that he was a family friend that was secretly in love with Nica's mother Sarah. He killed her father and kidnapped Sarah.
Played by Jennifer Tilly, Ms. Valentine was killed, became a living doll, and then assumed the role of Chucky's murderous partner in crime before hopping into the body of the actual Jennifer Tilly five years later during Seed of Chucky.
A lot of people think that Chucky is just using Tiffany and that he has no affection for her. However, this isn't the case if you look into it enough. Chucky does love Tiffany, he just doesn't try to act like a teddy bear around her. This is evident throughout the franchise.
Glen was completely opposite from their father Chucky and their twin sister, Glenda. Even though he was Chucky's son, who was cruel, malevolent and sadistic, Glen is strikingly meek, kind and compassionate. their parents had their different reactions to their gentle nature.
Glenda is a modern name with obscure origins. Most baby name books claim it's from the Welsh words glân, “clean, pure,” and da, “good”. Welsh pride created many names from Welsh words in the early 20th century.
He only became evil due to his sadistic desire to hurt and kill others, shown when his father was killed by the Hackensack killer, and decided to become just like him because he was inspired by the killers actions.
Little did she know, that doll was about to be her new body. Chucky escaped from the playpen and killed Tiffany, transferring her soul into the bride doll she had made. Chucky eventually proposed to her after being impressed by her abilities and creativity as a killer, and it all got weirder when they had sex.
While creator Don Mancini took inspiration from his childhood and horror stories that came before, the character of Charles Lee Ray, aka Chucky, is completely fictional.
Chucky and Tiffany make plans to transfer their souls into Redman and Jennifer. Tiffany knocks them out and uses a turkey baster to inseminate Jennifer with Chucky's semen, intending to use her baby as a host for Glen's soul.
