The creature's real body is composed of the “deadlights” or glowing orbs that overwhelm the mind of anyone who sees them. The deadlights made a cameo in 2017's “It” when Beverly looked into Pennywise's open mouth and saw three, small white lights deep inside her throat.
Once down in the bowels of the town, the Losers encircle an engraved leather vessel, and chant “Turn light into dark” until the pure rotten energy that forms the core of the demonic Pennywise—three orbs of light called the “Deadlights”—are sucked into the vessel, which the Losers then try to close.

The Deadlights are orange writhing lights that exist in Todash Darkness. Pennywise uses the Deadlights to break a person's mind because one look at the Deadlights will make a person go insane due to it not being able to be comprehended by a human mind.
Being such a powerful being, Pennywise clearly sensed that the yellow coloring was unsettling to Georgie, so he changed his eyes to blue on the fly as a way to make Georgie associate him with family and safety. This made Georgie all the easier to lure in to his bloody demise.
In It (2017), Pennywise changes the colour of his eyes from yellow to blue, which are the same colour as Bill's, to lure Georgie. "There were yellow eyes in there: the sort of eyes he had always imagined but never actually seen down in the basement.

Unfortunately, Eddie is a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy with his own mother as the abuser. This means Mrs. Kaspbrak has been faking all of Eddie's illnesses in order to have unlimited control over him. Even his asthma inhaler is a placebo or "gazeebo" as the 2017 version of Eddie so hilariously puts it.
The backstory of Pennywise is tied to an ancient cosmic entity referred to as the "It" or the "Eater of Worlds." This entity is from another dimension and has existed for an extremely long time. It comes to Earth approximately every 27 years to prey on the children of Derry.
Bob Gray, (Pennywise's alter ego) is IT'S human form. The thing is now is that IT was NEVER human. Bob Gray was a clown called Pennywise that travelled in the circus with his daughter, Kersh. One day, IT sneaked onto Bob's Circus train and killed Bob.
When It shows the Losers all their worst fears, Beverly's is a bathroom covered in blood. Given that we have seen Beverly buying tampons in the previous scene, it's an obvious reference to the horrors and fears of puberty and being a teenage girl.
In IT, Richie (played by Finn Wolfhard) admits to his friends that he's terrified of clowns, which is coincidentally the default form that Pennywise takes on. However, in both the book and the 1990 miniseries, his greatest fear is a werewolf, and cutting this from his battle with Pennywise was a mistake.
Stan was a very methodical and mature child; he suffers from OCD. He is also the most skeptical and fearful of Pennywise, not being able to accept the happenings around him at first and terrified to believe that IT is real. His Fear: Stan is constantly haunted by the painting of “The Flute Lady” in his father's office.
While playing Pennywise in IT and IT Chapter Two, Bill Skarsgard wears a set of prosthetic teeth, for times when the dancing clown really needs to show off his razor-sharp chompers. The problem is, these teeth caused Skarsgard to drool, and not just a little. The teeth caused full-on torrents of slobber from the actor.
King stated in a 2013 interview that he came up with the idea for Pennywise after asking himself what children feared "more than anything else in the world", and feeling that the answer was clowns.
Making Pennywise IT's go-to form wasn't a random decision from King, who initially envisioned the creature as a troll like the one in the story “Three Billy Goats Gruff”, but later changed it to a clown as he realized that children hate clowns more than trolls.
