Not a rank every Mandalorian can obtain, the Armorer is more of a spiritual leader of the Mandalorian people. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the co-creators of The Mandalorian, have explained the Mandalorian Armorer as more of a shaman and lore keeper.
Appearances. The Armorer appeared in three episodes in the first season of The Mandalorian. She is the leader of a tribe of Mandalorian warriors on the planet Nevarro, where they live in a secret enclave. She provides spiritual guidance for the clan, and forges and repairs their armor.

The Armorer is seen as a shaman to the Mandalorians, the clan's spiritual leader. While Mandalorians can have political or wartime leaders, such as Mand'alor, the Armorer is a title passed down through generations to act as the spiritual pillar of the community.
The Armorer forged armor from the beskar that Din Djarin provided. Hailing from the planet Mandalore, the Armorer was part of the Children of the Watch, a Mandalorian group which followed the Way of the Mandalore, and were considered religious zealots that broke away from Mandalorian society by Bo-Katan Kryze.
The Armorer never wanted Din or Bo-Katan to fail — in the end, she wanted the Mandalorian people to succeed just as much as they did. Creating an aura of mystery and the potential of betrayal made both audiences and the show's main characters doubt that The Armorer was really on the right side of things.

Is the Armorer a follower of Maul?
Her fervor for the Mandalorian code has inspired and condemned Din Djarin throughout her life. Yet, nothing is really known about The Mandalorian character. One theory contends she may have a deep connection to the Clone Wars: that the Armorer is actually Rook Kast, former follower of Darth Maul.
Armourers have the rank of Craftsman upon starting their trade training, which is the equivalent of Private and they have similar ranks of the remainder of the Army thereafter. As they increase in rank they can follow one of two streams: Artisan or Artificer.
After the episode aired, a theory started circling the Star Wars fandom that The Armorer was actually an Imperial spy during Season 3. While that proved to ultimately not be the case, here's evidence that made fans believe their theory.
But while Gideon's horns may be a reference, The Armorer's are still unexplained. They may simply be a remnant of the Maul-adjacent extremist Death Watch movement, which she revealed crumbled because of infighting, but they could be a hiding-in-plain-sight indicator that her intentions aren't all they seem.
Characters like Din Djarin, Boba Fett, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Paz Vizsla all hold the simple rank of Mandalorian, a member of the Children of the Watch responsible for upholding the ways of the Creed - at least in Din, Paz, and now Bo's case. Mandalorians uphold the Way by following the rules of the Creed.
Mandalore the Ultimate is, as his name suggests, the greatest of the Mandalorians. Although his past is steeped in mystery, it is clear that he was a warrior and leader with no equal, who led his people during the Mandalorian Wars against the Jedi, single-handedly turning the tide of the war in their favor.
She recognizes the potential Bo-Katan has, and understands that she can't control her. So rather than try and force Bo-Katan to become something she isn't, the Armorer allows her to remove her helmet.
Most prominently, the female helmets resemble the designs of Spartan helmets, with rounded eye designs, where the men have the simpler visor. The different styles help viewers distinguish men from women, and helps show the make-up of the Mandalorian forces.
The Mandalorian star Emily Swallow says Star Wars was a part of the fabric of her childhood. The Armorer has a strong belief in the Mandalorian “way”, which, in part, requires not taking off one's helmet around others. We've never seen your face in the show, and we're imagining there's a chance we never will.
What is the difference between Armorer and Armorer?
Armorer and armourer are both English terms. Armorer is predominantly used in 🇺🇸 American (US) English ( en-US ) while armourer is predominantly used in 🇬🇧 British English (used in UK/AU/NZ) ( en-GB ). In the United States, there is a preference for "armorer" over "armourer" (94 to 6).
In time of war an armorer also made armor for soldiers. In addition to making mail (also called chain-mail), after the 14th century they began making plate armor. Armorers could also specialize in what type of armor they produced (mail or plate). They also specialized in various tasks involved in creating armor.
Armor officers are experts in combined arms maneuver and reconnaissance & security missions. Armor officers will synchronize joint fires and integrate a wide array of enablers to achieve lethal and non-lethal effects in order to accomplish the mission. Armor officers lead, train, motivate, and care for Soldiers.
Maul was a Zabrak from the planet Dathomir. However, though he was not Mandalorian by blood, the fact that he won the Darksaber in battle made him the last wielder before Din Djarin with a legitimate claim to the throne.
The Armorer and Gideon are both former Death Watch and are secretly working together. I think The Armorer joined or helped to form the The Watch to carry on the goal of restoring Mandelor's warrior culture. However things hit a snag with the older watch members and Din adopting Grogu.
