A huge theme to acknowledge in this film is the idea of nature vs.nurture. Estella was raised by a caring mother who always tried to “love her into shape” as Cruella herself states it. Try as she might, Estella could never quite tame those wild inclinations.
Plot. In 1964 England, Estella is a creative child with a talent for fashion, but is ostracized for her black and white hair and develops a nefarious streak. Her mother, Catherine, encourages her to be a winner, using the name "Cruella" for the person she must compete against.
What The Ending of Cruella Really Means. Cruella ends with the Baroness being proven guilty of Estella's murder and being taken to jail for her crimes. While the Baroness is exposed in the eyes of the public, she is shown to hold a considerable amount of influence due to her social stature.
Cruella desires to make a fur coat from the Radcliffes' Dalmatians, but does not tell the Radcliffes this, simply demanding to know when the puppies arrive.
The characters who have conflicts with Cruella or Estella in this movie are Catherine, which often limits Cruella from doing something and turns it into a burden to Cruella. Then, the conflict between Cruella and Baroness is the main conflict in the movie.

Her personal anthem, the song that plays in the animated version of 101 Dalmatians, is all about how “if she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will.” And her defining characteristic is that she loves dalmatian fur so much she's more than willing to kidnap a bunch of puppies in the hopes of skinning them for their spots.
Like any villain, Cruella De Vil is evil! Her fierce, unkind and selfish behaviour makes her one of the most evil characters. On her arms she wears a pair of long, ruby gloves to cover her pale, wrinkly skin which is transparent like a window.
She is blinded by her greed and selfishness, willing to hurt others to get what she wants. You can't help but root for Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdita, and the other 99 Dalmatians every time she's on screen. Cruella De Vil embodies all of the bad things that could corrupt each and every one of us.
Estella tries to be calm and kind but struggles with what appears to be a borderline personality disorder and has trouble keeping her raging and mean alter ego, Cruella, under control. When school bullies repeatedly taunt and torment Estella, she loses control and is expelled from school.
From the original Disney animation, we learn that behind her glamour, Cruella de Vil is a murderous, narcissistic psychopath; she is a woman who is perfectly willing to illegally abduct, murder and skin 99 puppies to create her own spotted fur coat.
