The brain-teasing, satirical carnage that unfolds in the SCREAM movies can be traced all the way back to a place called Woodsboro. However, Ghostface – or, more accurately, all the killers who have taken on the identity of the masked murderer – does not operate strictly from the small, fictional California town.
Set in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, Scream's plot follows high school student Sidney Prescott (Campbell) and her friends, who, on the anniversary of her mother's murder, become the targets of a costumed serial killer known as Ghostface.
SCREAM 3 takes place in Hollywood during production of "Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro," a thriller which raises troubling questions about the events that terrified the town of Woodsboro -and continue to haunt Sidney Prescott (Campbell).
Scream 2 takes place two years after the first film and again follows the character of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), along with other survivors of the Woodsboro massacre, at the fictional Windsor College in Ohio where they are targeted by a copycat killer using the guise of Ghostface.
Though Sidney escapes the grip of her hometown during the second and third films, Scream 4 sees her return to Woodsboro, tormented once again by Ghostface's wrath. This time around, filmmakers chose to shoot Woodsboro in Michigan using towns around the Ann Arbor area to re-create the original Scream setting.
Also in March, the sixth film's release date was set for March 31, 2023. A few weeks later, plot details emerged, setting the film outside of Woodsboro. By June, it was announced the film would take place in New York City.
Though the seventh film is still in the works, the franchise has hit a bump in the road as it has been reported that several cast members will no longer return for the sequel.
Scream 3's poor reviews stemmed from a consensus that the plot was convoluted while relying too heavily on typical horror clichés. There was also a common belief that Craven's third Scream movie didn't do enough to set itself apart from other horror movies, and instead, it reused traditional horror tropes.
In Scream 3, the current Ghostface uses Maureen's synthesized voice and image to taunt Sidney and lure her out of hiding. The killer is unveiled as Roman Bridger, who reveals that he is Maureen's son and Sidney's half-brother.
Most of the Scream action scenes take place in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California. Several northern California towns stood in for Woodsboro, including Santa Rosa, Glen Ellen, Tomales, Healdsburg and Sonoma.
The main killer links back to Sidney again. The two killers are Jill Roberts (Emma Roberts), who is Sidney's cousin on her mother's side, and Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin).
The Scream 2022 kills mirror the original film by having two killers as Ghostface, but since the Scream 5 killers have the mask on when committing the murders, only a few kills definitively show which Ghostface killer killed who.
However, many considered it to be an improvement over its predecessor, and it has enjoyed several positive reappraisals since, particularly for its prescient examination of the impact of social media. It grossed $97 million worldwide on a budget of $40 million, becoming the lowest-grossing film in the Scream franchise.
Woodsboro Hospital - Seen in Scream 4 and Scream 5. There are numerous scenes here. After Olivia's death, Jill and Sidney are taken here for their injuries. Rebecca is fired by Sidney for her insensitive attitude towards the reality of her life and killed in the hospital parking structure later.
The film also wasn't as scary as the original and despite the "kids" knowing the rules of the horror movie they were starring in they all seem to go outside to investigate a strange noise when they know they're all being hunted by a killer.

Although there is a great quote in every Scream movie, and there are some gems here, the dialogue and banter doesn't feel the same as the other films. Another reason why fans might not love Scream 3 as much as the other films is that Scream should stay in Woodsboro and the third film mostly takes place in Hollywood.
No one behaves very admirably. Profanity here is more graphic than the gore. References to other movies. Parents need to know that while there's less extreme bloodshed here than in the other Scream features, stabbings and throat-slittings are still abundant, matched with (sometimes exceeded by) the swearing.
“Scream 6” rides the momentum of the previous film and ups the ante in every way. It's funnier, scarier and much much bloodier. If you aren't a fan of gore, walk into this film with some caution. The kills are more frequent and take up more screen time than ever before.
Before Scream 7 went through a whole creative reset, Billy was expected to return in Scream 7 as there are many unanswered questions about Sam and her link to Billy. However, now that Barrera is no longer part of Scream 7, bringing Billy back wouldn't make sense as Sam was the one who had hallucinations of him.

My husband and I usually like horror movies, but I would advise any parents to keep kids under 18 from watching this .
At the end of Scream 6, Detective Bailey, Quinn Bailey, and Ethan Landry revealed themselves as killers. Their motive was that Richie was Detective Bailey's son, and Quinn and Ethan were his siblings.
Anika became a victim during an attack where Ethan was revealed as the killer. Anika (Devyn Nekoda) may have had the worst death in Scream 6, which is saying a lot because the movie is packed with horrific fatalities.
Severe. Lots of graphic sequences of violence that include characters getting stabbed for about 21 times in a row in the torso during a single sequence, knives are seen going through mouth and hands in a very gory way, and throats are slit.
