Titles rated M (Mature) have content that is generally suitable for persons ages 17 and up. May contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language. Titles rated AO (Adults Only) have content that is only suitable for persons ages 17 and up.
Rated G: Suggested for general audiences. Rated M: Suggested for mature audiences - Parental discretion advised. Rated R: Restricted – Persons under 16 not admitted, unless accompanied by parent or adult guardian. Rated X: Persons under 16 not admitted.

It received the R rating for sexuality, nudity and language. "Oppenheimer" will undoubtedly be one of the most talked about films of 2023 and a front-runner at the Oscars in 2024, attracting a lot of curiosity from potential audience members.
While the film does not dive into trans identity, Barbie still manages to touch upon LGBTQ+ issues without naming them as such. In fact, the film features several openly LGBTQ+ actors, like Hari Nef, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, and Scott Evans.
The movie received its PG-13 rating because of “suggestive references” and “brief language.” Some parents may not be ready or comfortable to discuss the more advanced plot lines while others may simply just know if their child is or is not ready to be introduced to mature topics.
The movie does have adult themes, mild language and some suggestive references, but many parents have still felt comfortable taking their children and tweens to see it. The “Barbie” movie can be a great jumping off point for starting or continuing thoughtful discussions about diversity, inclusion and self-image.
Founded by Holly Tarquini in 2014, the F-Rating is used like a Fair trade stamp to give film lovers an easily identifiable label so they can choose films that fairly represent women on screen and behind the camera. The F-Rating is applied to all films which are directed by women and/or written by women.
The 'F' in this rating stands for feminist. The F Rating was inspired by the Bechdel Test used by a group of cinemas in Sweden, and developed further to amplify the people telling the stories, not just the characters on screen. The Bechdel Test was devised by cartoonist Alison Bechdel in 1985.
The festival developed the F-Rating in October 2014 "to take it a step further and highlight films which either had a senior figure in production who was female—a director or a screenwriter—or had very strong female leads or women's issues," according to festival director and F-Rating founder Holly Tarquini.
Netflix additionally noted, “In some countries, we may also show season-level ratings. Those ratings may differ from the show's overall rating or mature content themes.” “Stranger Things” is one of few Netflix Original Series that is TV-14. Movie Guide reports that 61% of its series are rated as TV-MA.
