Summary: Chapter III: How Dorothy Saved the Scarecrow A wealthy Munchkin named Boq invites Dorothy to stay with him overnight as he believes she's a sorceress due to her silver shoes and the white in her dress. Even though Boq has never been to the Emerald City, he warns Dorothy that her journey will get dangerous.
Summary of Chapter 3 ~ How Dorothy Saved the Scarecrow
He asks Dorothy to help him down from a pole. Once the Scarecrow learns Dorothy is going to see the Great Oz to ask for help in getting home to Kansas, he asks Dorothy if he can come along and see if the Great Oz can give him a brain. Dorothy agrees.
The Wizard presents the Scarecrow with a certificate, the Tin Man with a clock and the Lion with medals. He is a wise man who knows that the human qualities of brains, heart, and courage cannot be given. As such, he offers his gifts allegorically.
After her stay she continues her journey across Oz and soon meets a brainless Scarecrow, a heartless Tin Man named Nick Chopper and Brrr, a cowardly Lion. The three join Dorothy and Toto on their journey to see the Wizard.
Dorothy helped him over the fence, and they started along the path of yellow brick for the Emerald City. Toto did not like this addition to the party at first. He smelled around the stuffed man as if he suspected there might be a nest of rats in the straw, and he often growled in an unfriendly way at the Scarecrow.

And the Scarecrow found a tree full of nuts and filled Dorothy's basket with them, so that she would not be hungry for a long time. She thought this was very kind and thoughtful of the Scarecrow, but she laughed heartily at the awkward way in which the poor creature picked up the nuts.

from Chapter 23 - Glinda The Good Witch Grants Dorothy's Wish. Glinda the Good stepped down from her ruby throne to give the little girl a good-bye kiss, and Dorothy thanked her for all the kindness she had shown to her friends and herself.
The Witch of the North gives Dorothy the silver shoes of the dead witch and advises her to go to the City of Emeralds to see the Great Wizard Oz, who might help her return to Kansas. The witch sends Dorothy off along the yellow brick road with a magical kiss to protect her from harm.
Then she kissed the Tin Woodman, who was weeping in a way most dangerous to his joints. But she hugged the soft, stuffed body of the Scarecrow in her arms instead of kissing his painted face, and found she was crying herself at this sorrowful parting from her loving comrades.
When Dorothy and her friends finally arrive at the Emerald City, the Great Oz agrees to meet with them. Appearing in a different disguise for each traveler, he tells each he will grant their wishes only when they have killed the Wicked Witch of the West.
The Wicked Witch of the East was featured in the film The Wizard of Oz (1939), in which she is the sister of the Wicked Witch of the West. As in the book, she is killed when Dorothy's house falls on her. The Wicked Witch of the West was not pleased with Dorothy for the death of her sister.
One of the creepiest moments in the entire movie is when Miss Gulch, Dorothy's nemesis in Kansas, transforms into the Wicked Witch on her broom. It's a powerful moment for the girl and for those in the audience, as it shows just how far she has ventured from the world she thought she knew.
Along with her house and Toto, she's swept from her sepia-toned world to the magical, beautiful, dangerous and technicolor land of Oz. The tornado drops Dorothy's house on the Wicked Witch of the East (also link=nm0002121) , killing her.
Summaries. Dorothy, saved from a psychiatric experiment by a mysterious girl, is somehow called back to Oz when a vain witch and the Nome King destroy everything that makes the magical land beautiful.

The Wiz: All four witches remain, but they get new names. The Wicked Witch of the East becomes Evvamean, the Good Witch of the North becomes Addaperle ("Miss One" in the movie version) and the Wicked Witch of the West becomes Evillene, while Glinda gets to keep her name.
Red and Dorothy meet in Oz, and their nicknames for each other are "Wolfie" (because Red is a werewolf) and "Kansas" (because Dorothy comes from Kansas). When Zelena puts Dorothy under a Sleeping Curse, Red awakens her with true love's kiss, showing that their relationship is true love.
9. "I think I'll miss you most of all." Thus Dorothy says goodbye to the Scarecrow. Why the strange partiality? Because, in an earlier draft of the script, Dorothy and the Kansas counterpart of the Scarecrow are sweet on each other.
The Tin Woodman has a romantic interest in Dorothy and follows all her orders without noticing that she doesn't care about him or his feelings for her.
Scarecrow appears in the first season of Harley Quinn, voiced by Rahul Kohli. This version is a member of the Legion of Doom who joins forces with the Joker, who later kills Scarecrow for unmasking Batman as Bruce Wayne and "ruining the mystery" for the Joker.
