Draco himself has a choice to make - as a newly minted Death Eater, he has been charged with killing Dumbledore, and yet, he is still only a teenager. Watching him struggle to live up to his family legacy, please his father, and protect himself, despite clearly not wanting to become a killer, is heartbreaking to watch.
In the fateful finale of The Half-Blood Prince, Draco sneaks into the Astronomy Tower to murder Albus Dumbledore. Draco Malfoy, however, is no killer. He presents his serpentine Dark Mark, confirming Harry's suspicions.
This can be seen after Voldemort gives him the task to kill Albus Dumbledore in the Half-Blood Prince and restore his family's relationship with Voldemort. At first Draco is excited with the prospects of such a big task, however later finds out the naivety of such excitement.
So, during the summer between his fifth and sixth years at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy was tasked with the assassination of Albus Dumbledore to restore his family to Voldemort's good graces.
With Lucius locked up in Azkaban and the Malfoy name fallen from grace, Draco was given an important mission by Voldemort: to kill Albus Dumbledore. Narcissa knew full well that this 'honour' had not been bestowed on Draco as a reward but rather as a punishment for his father's failure.
However, it can be presumed that he thought he could get by on the coattails for his father, with Snape there to remedy his grade if need be. Perhaps this is why Draco only has three O.W.L.s., including one in Transfiguration, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
In fact, Lucius' own support to Voldemort is revealed to come only under some form of duress, which is likely Narcissa's Veela Allure. When Lucius turns on Voldemort due to the reveal of his Horcruxes, Narcissa divorces him, taking 75% of Malfoy's wealth with her.
J.K. Rowling says Draco doesn't have a patronus because he never learned the spell but I think it's because he doesn't have any powerful happy memories to use.
Why was Draco crying in the bathroom in Half Blood Prince?
The fact that Draco was sobbing at the sink is also a surprising twist, as it portrays Draco as oddly sympathetic. Clearly, the stress of his predicament is taking its toll, and whatever Draco is up to, he is doing it under the threat of his own death.
He's, like, a side character that you wouldn't expect to be attractive, which makes him even more attractive. He just gives off a different vibe than other characters who are supposed to be evidently good looking. Also, the fact that he was broken and tried to be a good person also makes him even more attractive.

Why was Draco crying in the washroom in the Half Blood Prince?? Because he was struggling to make the Vanishing Cabinet work, and Voldemort threatened to kill him and his family if he failed.
Malfoy spots Harry and casts a Cruciatus curse; Harry, defending himself, using the Half-Blood Prince's Sectumsempra spell without knowing its effects. To his horror, it gashes Draco's face and chest, spilling his blood everywhere. Moaning Myrtle flies off, screaming.
Having gone through the horrors of the second wizarding war as a Death Eater, Draco abandoned the pure-blood beliefs he was originally devoted to, and grew to become a better person than he was in his youth, growing more tolerant and accepting of the non-pure-bloods of the wizarding world.
The Opal Necklace was a cursed dark object, made of opals, that was, for a period of time, on sale at Borgin and Burkes. It was claimed to have taken the lives of nineteen different Muggles. It was also used by Draco Malfoy in a failed attempt to assassinate Albus Dumbledore, that ended up cursing Katie Bell instead.
This was one of the incantations that was part of the necromancy ritual that Grindelwald used to revive the Qilin. Severus Snape used this spell to save Draco Malfoy after he was attacked by Harry Potter using Sectumsempra. He then took him to the Hospital Wing for further treatment, hoping to avoid scarring.
In Draco's case, he is angry at Snape for taking his father's revered spot during his disgrace (Death Hallows: the Prince's Tale); he may have thought he set his father up since it was pretty easy to deduce that Snape informed Dumbledore what was happening.
He promised to protect Draco Malfoy from harm and guide him whilst he attempted to perform the task the Dark Lord had asked him to do: to kill Albus Dumbledore. Snape was actually a double agent working for Dumbledore, who requested Snape to kill him anyway to spare him of a painful and humiliating death.
Harry Potter had a few love interests during his time at Hogwarts. Though he eventually settled down with Ginny Weasley, he also had a thing for Cho Chang in his earlier school years. Then, of course, there's his secret love for Draco Malfoy…
In some parts of the saga, Draco even seems obsessed with Hermione. Even though he considers Muggle-borns to be inferior, he hasn't ever picked on one other than Hermione.
It's safe to assume that Draco's hatred of Harry was fueled by jealousy. Although Draco attempted to disguise his jealousy with confidence, it still makes an appearance throughout the franchise. Harry is an incredibly talented wizard – something which Draco greatly admired.
During this year, Narcissa became pregnant and miscarried. She was distraught and uncertain of what to tell Lucius, as she had not told him of her pregnancy. Shortly thereafter, he brought her out to the Leaky Cauldron to visit with his friends Vettlingar Yaxley and Thorfinn Rowle.
Narcissa was taught the philosophy of blood purity from a young age and grew up prejudiced in favour of pure-bloods. Thus, like her sister Bellatrix, she cut off contact with her sister Andromeda after she was disowned and burned off the Black family tree for marrying Muggle-born wizard Ted Tonks.
She married Rodolphus Lestrange after leaving Hogwarts "because it was expected of her" to marry a pure-blood. However, Rowling stated in an interview that Bellatrix truly loved Voldemort.
