This would lead to one of the biggest Stephen King book controversies: after the Losers become lost in the sewers trying to make their way back to the surface, in IT Beverly decided to have sexual intercourse with all the boys from the Losers Club.

Partway through the novel's first section, Beverly (the only girl in the Losers club) spies on Henry Bowers, the local bully, and his meathead buddies lighting their farts on fire in a garbage dump.
Throughout the novel, Beverly is consistently abused by the men in her life. As a child, she is physically and sexually abused by her father, Alvin. As an adult, due to the repressed memories of Derry, she marries Tom Rogan, who is physically and emotionally abusive towards her.
He is also a form that Pennywise/IT uses to frighten Beverly since he is what she fears the most. It is also implied (and confirmed in the 2017 film) that he sexually abuses his own daughter.

Did the boys see the blood in the bathroom in IT?
After a tense encounter between Beverly and her abusive and predatory father, who can't see any of the blood, the male members of the Losers' Club stop by. Fearing she's imagined the whole thing, Beverly leads them up to the bathroom — where, to her relief, she realizes they can all see the blood.

In It: Chapter 2, the actress who plays Myra, Eddie's wife, is the same actress who plays Eddie's mother in Chapter 1, which goes along with the book in that he marries a woman just like his overprotective mother.
Greta also wrote LOSER on Eddie's arm cast and then, he later covers the S with a V in red marker, so it then spells LOVER. She is also the one to tell Eddie his medication is a gazebo rather than Mr. Keene himself.
Unfortunately, Eddie is a victim of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy with his own mother as the abuser. This means Mrs. Kaspbrak has been faking all of Eddie's illnesses in order to have unlimited control over him. Even his asthma inhaler is a placebo or "gazeebo" as the 2017 version of Eddie so hilariously puts it.
According to It, when humans got scared, "all the chemicals of fear flooded the body and salted the meat". This is why he prefers to feast on children -- their fears are simple, pure, and powerful compared to the complex, pathological fears of adults. Basically, children are delicious.
IT arrived on Earth through an event similar to an asteroid impact, landing in what would later become Derry, Maine. Once there, IT adopted its usual pattern of hibernation that lasted between 27 and 30 years, awakening to kill and eat and then going back to sleep.
It slept for millions of years, then, when humans appeared in the area, It awoke and began a feeding cycle lasting about a year, feeding on people's fears and frequently assuming the shape of whatever its prey feared the most. After feeding, It would resume hibernation for approximately 30 years before reappearing.
They reach the conclusion that Pennywise has all of the adults under some sort of spell that prohibits them from seeing him. The adults of Derry are shown to be villainous in their own right as well. The adults of Derry are shown to be true villains of the story in the same way as Pennywise.
To put it bluntly, the blood Bev sees is period blood. She is afraid of going through puberty and becoming a woman. She fears this because of her abusive, misogynistic father and the fact that boys and men already sexualize her.
Stephen King's IT introduced readers to a one-of-a-kind creature that can take any form, the most common one being Pennywise the Dancing Clown, and as menacing as it is, this creature has one big enemy it's truly scared of: Maturin, the turtle.
(According to King's book, Pennywise actually is a spider—sort of. That's really just the closest visual approximation to what Pennywise's true form actually is, at least to our puny human minds.)
Regardless, she's one nasty beast and not alone due to the egg sack she's carrying. Unfortunately, King's imagination ran a little wilder than alluded to in the movies or earlier in the books, and the consequence of that is a pregnant Pennywise.
Pennywise does not need to scare his victims in order to kill them, he simply prefers to. The reason he does this is because it supppsedly tastes better. He says it's like "salting the meat." Pennywise feeds off the fear as much as he does the consumption of Children.
Bill Denbrough described them as writhing, destroying orange lights, and IT as an endless, crawling, hairy creature made of that same light. The theory, then, suggests that the balloons are a representation of the deadlights and contain the souls of the children killed by IT.
In It, Eddie's mother convinces him that he has multiple illnesses, including severe asthma, which has to be treated with pills and an inhaler. In a pivotal moment in Eddie's development, he discovers that the pills he's been swallowing all along are actually placebo pills.
For IT Chapter Two, director Andy Muschietti opted to make the similarities between Eddie's wife and mom more explicit, having them be literally identical, and played by the same actress.
