We wanted to bring Diana into the modern world. But the '80s is a period that Wonder Woman is quite synonymous with. So it was great to see her there. But most importantly, it's sort of the height of Western civilization and the success of the world that we all live in in the aftermath of now.

The Dreamstone, which was originally created by the God of Lies, works like a Monkey's Paw; if you wish for something, you get that wish, but whatever you hold nearest and dearest will be taken from you. For Diana, she gets Steve (in another man's body) and loses her powers.
The surprise appearance of Asteria (played TV's original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter) could, perhaps, be nothing more than a fun nod to the role that Carter played onscreen in the 1970s — or, maybe, it could be a clue that the Wonder Woman movie mythology is about to become far more complicated.

Lizzie Prince is the daughter of Wonder Woman and…well…the identity of her father is a story for another time. And really, the identity of her father isn't what makes her special. Lizzie is special because of her commanding presence, inquisitive nature and undying bravery.
