"You Can't Win, Darth.If You Strike Me Down I Shall Become More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine." Obi-Wan Kenobi was not necessarily dying when he spoke these last words, per se. Rather, he had accepted that death was coming, he sacrifices himself seconds after this and becomes one with the Force.
The seasoned Jedi tells Vader, "If you strike me down, I'll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." As the story continues, it becomes apparent that Obi-Wan meant that his death would inspire Luke to topple the Sith, but to Vader, his words were perceived a lot differently.
"And now, farewell. I loved you as a son, and as a student, and as a friend. Until we meet again, may the Force be with you." -Obi-Wan Kenobi's final words as he appears for the last time(before becoming one with the force) before Luke Skywalker on Coruscant,9 ABY.
“Hello, there!” Alec Guinness' first line in the Star Wars movie retitled "A New Hope" would go on to become one of Obi-Wan's more iconic lines. Spoken to R2-D2 after rescuing Luke from a band of Tusken Raiders, Obi-Wan's cheerful greeting establishes his character's trustworthiness despite his mysterious introduction.
The next words out of his mouth are “The same way I will destroy you!” After that, Obi-Wan foreshadows Luke's “truly dead” declaration and delivers a “Goodbye, Darth” that hearkens back (or forward) to how he addresses him at their next meeting.

At the time, it's likely Obi-Wan smiled because he was about to become one with the Force, and he was fine with that after seeing Luke, their last hope, make his great escape.

The canon status of that detail remains unclear, however, though it may be further clarified once Obi-Wan Kenobi begins to air. The upcoming Disney+ miniseries also has a set place in the canon.
Who is Qui-Gon Jinn? Qui-Gon Jinn was a respected, independent Jedi Master who first located and identified Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One foretold in the Jedi Prophecy. Born on Coruscant circa 80 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), Qui-Gon trained as a Padawan under Jedi Master Count Dooku.
Having been completely and utterly defeated during their first battle in Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader harbored a grudge against his former master which fueled his hatred for many years. Obi-Wan Kenobi's third episode confirms Darth Vader's biggest mistake came when he had a chance to finish the job.
Anakin Skywalker ultimately ended up hating Obi-Wan Kenobi for many misguided reasons, but Darth Vader's subconscious response to the Jedi's final declaration of love in the Star Wars prequels shows the real reason he could never forgive him.
However, as shown in Marvel's Star Wars: Darth Vader #5 (by Greg Pak, Raffaele Ienco, Neeraj Menon and Joe Caramanga) it wasn't envy of power that drove Anakin over the edge, but rather something far more personal: Skywalker believed that Padme and Obi-Wan might have had an affair.
