Ghosts swirl through the screen in bulk, and characters -- including a child -- are in constant peril. All of this makes the movie more appropriate for older tweens and teens than younger or more sensitive children.
There are no height restrictions on Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion, and both can accommodate lap-riding children. While your son may be permitted to ride, you might also consider whether either of these two attractions are a bit too frightening for him.

In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, Muppets Haunted Mansion has some scenes that could scare or disturb children under 5 years. For example: The mansion is full of disturbing images, like eyes in the wallpaper, a creepy skeleton and zombie that pop out at Gonzo and Pepe, and ghosts that shout out 'Boo! '
Your toddler can ride in a carrier on attractions that don't have lap bars or seatbelts, and they can sit on your lap for rides like Peter Pans Flight, Haunted Mansion, and Little Mermaid, to name a few. When you want to ride something your toddler can't, use Rider Switch!
The attention to detail throughout the ride is incredible and the special effects remain terrific even after all thes... “The Best Ride in the Park!” This is a classic ride that has stood the test of time and is my all time fav of ALL Disney rides.
From the style of seats to the lap bars (or lack thereof), both rides aren't too restrictive for plus-sized travelers. The same goes for a number of older rides, like the Haunted Mansion or the Mad Tea Party.
It was too grief-y for me, I didn't connect with the characters, and I just was disappointed they didn't lean more into the story of Constance the bride beheading grooms and instead went a weird sad direction that I just didn't appreciate.
