The film Logan is set in 2029, taking place after every other film in the X-Men franchise. Logan paints a dark picture of the future for mutants. Prior to the events of the film, Xavier's diminishing health had caused him to accidentally unleash a psychic attack, killing all of the X-Men.

Working as a limousine driver in El Paso, Texas, he and mutant tracker Caliban take care of 97-year-old Charles Xavier, founder of the X-Men, in an abandoned smelting plant in northern Mexico.
Jackman said on the Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM that Wolverine will appear in Deadpool 3 through a different timeline, one in which he is still alive. "It's all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines," Jackman said.
Logan, the 2017 film featuring Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine, is highly respected and loved by the team behind Deadpool 3. Deadpool 3 will respect and consider Logan as canon, indicating a deep reverence for the movie and its events.
So technically most of the action of X-Men: Days of Future Past takes place in the year 1973, but it's also a future-set movie that simultaneously takes place in the year 2023.
However, while some people believe Logan takes place in its own continuity, especially after it seemed Jackman confirmed the rumors by saying the film took place in a "slightly different universe" shortly before its release, Logan's place in the X-Men timeline has been confirmed by Mangold.

Caliban is very old by the time we meet him in Logan. Xavier, Logan and Caliban are not in their prime in this movie. Caliban had not been an overly strong mutant in his time as a Morlock until he was manipulated by Apocalypse into being the Horseman of Death.
In a dystopian, seemingly alternative timeline that mixes elements of history from previous timelines, with no new mutants known to have been born in nearly four decades, Logan's healing factor began to suffer severe deterioration, causing him to finally begin showing his age.
Ultimately, Juggernaut is overwhelmingly stronger than Wolverine and more immediately durable, meaning that having beaten Logan to a pulp, he'd be able to simply hold him underwater for a permanent victory.
At the end of the day, Wolverine could defeat Captain America if they were pitted against one another on multiple occasions. Sure, Cap has the will to keep going even when at the end of his rope, but so does Logan. Both are outrageously stubborn and forceful.
While Deadpool and Wolverine are both practically immortal because of their respective healing factors, the way the two abilities work within their bodies are very different.
