What happened to the Mandalorians during the purge?
The Great Purge of Mandalore, also known as the Night of a Thousand Tears, was a tragic event orchestrated by Moff Gideon. Bo-Katan Kryze failed to prevent the Purge and surrendered to Gideon in hopes of saving her people, but he betrayed her and massacred the majority of the Mandalorian population.
As a child, Din Djarin resided in a village on the planet Aq Vetina. The village came under attack by Separatist battle droids at some point during the Clone Wars, with Djarin and his family caught in the crossfire.
So the night of a thousand tears happened sometime between 1 BBY and 4 ABY, and we saw from a flashback that Din Djarin was saved from battle droids by deathwatch when he was a kid which would have happened sometime between 22 BBY and 19 BBY. This means that Din was a minimum of 20 years old when the purge took place.
