Tulkas defeats Melkor, binds him with a specially forged chain, Angainor, and brings him to Valinor. He is imprisoned in the Halls of Mandos for three ages. Upon his release, Melkor is paroled to Valinor, though a few of the Valar continue to mistrust him.
He will fight in the Last Battle against the Valar and their allies, but will ultimately be slain by Túrin Turambar, the Man he cursed. By finally defeating Morgoth, Túrin will avenge not only himself, but all members of the race of Men.
Túrin will run his black sword Gurthang (Iron of Death) through Melkor's heart, thus avenging the Children of Húrin (Sindarin: Hîn Húrin) and all the fallen (In the end of The Hiding of Valinor Eönwë, and not Turin, kills Morgoth).
Many years later, Tulkas overthrew Melkor in the battle of the Silent Pools, and bound him to be kept within Lumbi. Here, the Hound of Mandos, Gorgumoth, guarded Melkor in his captivity. Furthermore, he was married to the Maia Lëa-vinya and had a son, Telimektar, who gave him a nephew, Lúsion.
Fingolfin, receiving false news, rode alone to Angband and challenged Morgoth to single combat. He wounded Morgoth several times, but grew weary and was killed by the immortal Vala. Fingolfin has inspired artists, musicians and video game designers to create depictions of his deeds.

Did Galadriel defeat Morgoth?
She had no role in the major wars of the First Age, believing that defeating Morgoth was beyond the power of the Eldar; when Morgoth was defeated by the coming of the Valar out of the West she, having played no part in the earlier Kinslaying, was offered safe return to Valinor.
In the end, Morgoth is utterly defeated, and his armies are almost entirely slaughtered. The dragons are almost all destroyed, and Thangorodrim is shattered when Eärendil kills the greatest of dragons, Ancalagon the Black, who crashes upon it as he falls.
I'm reading through the Silm for the very first time, (you guys are all a huge help to me by the way, thanks to all of you) and near the beginning Tulkas is able to best Morgoth in combat and cast him upon his face.
Tulkas may have been stronger than Melkor at that point, but Tulkas was not wise or patient. As a result, Tulkas urged his fellow Valar to pursue and punish Melkor to the ends of the world, but they could not find Melkor while he weaved his treachery among the mortals in Middle-earth.
While Morgoth doesn't appear in The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, he plays a significant role in The Silmarillion and Tolkien's other writings, and his reign of terror had a far bigger impact on Middle-earth history than Sauron's — as seen in Amazon's The Rings of Power series.
6 Gandalf. As previously stated, Gandalf is a Maia and is therefore superior to Elves regarding power. Still, this isn't to say that an elf couldn't develop enough skill and power to defeat a Maia. As a bearer of one of the Three Elven Rings (Nenya), Galadriel would have an edge against Maiar like Saruman and Radagast.

The second prophecy of Mandos (later removed from The Silmarillion by Christopher Tolkien) states that at the End of Time, Morgoth would wage a final battle against the Valar, the Final Battle, and that Túrin Turambar reincarnated would plunge Gurthang into Morgoth's heart and defeat him once and for all, exterminating ...
The apparent totality of the defeat caused a great wrath and despair to overcome Fingolfin, and he resolved to go to Angband and challenge Morgoth himself to single combat.
Gandalf pursued the monster for eight days, until they climbed to the peak of Zirakzigil, where the Balrog was forced to turn and fight, its body erupting into new flame. Here they fought for two days and nights. In the end, the Balrog was defeated and cast down, breaking the mountainside where it fell "in ruin".
However, near the end, Morgoth had dispersed so much of his own power into the world, that (Tolkien wrote in a private letter) he was actually weaker than Sauron. Sauron made torture a specialty. Morgoth tortured people too, but Sauron was really into it.
Ultimately, the only being more powerful than Morgoth in his prime was Eru Ilúvatar. Only the combined effort of the Valar could stop Morgoth, and only after countless battles. Sauron might have bested his mentor under certain circumstances, but Morgoth is the greater Dark Lord by every metric.
From a technical sense, Sauron and the Balrogs were Maiar, not Valar. That meant that they were designed as lesser beings from the beginning of time. Thus, in their original forms, Morgoth would have easily defeated Sauron in a fight.
Tulkas is like Ares, the greek god of war. He's like the bodybuilder of the Valar. Melkor made Tulkas really angry and so naturally Melkor would be scared of that combo.
Envy: He hates how he cannot make life and is jealous of Eru's ability to create life which is why he creates Discord and is the prime motivation of Morgoth. If it isn't mine, then I will destroy it. Gluttony: He breaks his promise and betrays Ungoliant, so he can keep the Silmarils for himself.
His most direct legacy would be that of his second-in-command, Sauron, who took up the mantle of Dark Lord following his master's fall. Sauron would command many of the same forces that Morgoth had created in his time. Morgoth was the bringer of evil and darkness onto Middle-earth.
Some among the Ainur did actually incarnate themselves, most notably Morgoth and Gandalf. While in these bodies, they could be forcibly disincarnated or "killed" (though they did not die of old age); but they would suffer no loss of their true being unless previously weakened.
