Named for its ability to travel past Imperial sensors without detection, the Ghost has served Captain and pilot Hera Syndulla and her droid, Chopper, for more than a decade.
Once the heart of the Ghost crew during the age of the Empire, Hera Syndulla continues to serve as the captain of her ship while fighting for freedom from oppression as a general in the New Republic during an era of reconstruction.
The Ghost quickly became a fan favorite and a character itself, much like the Millennium Falcon before it. Since then, it's been glimpsed briefly in live-action, both at the Yavin IV base during Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and at the Battle of Exegol in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The members of the crew of the Ghost were called Spectres, as code names when working in the field. Kanan Jarrus, Garazeb Orrelios, Chopper, Sabine Wren, and Ezra Bridger made up the crew alongside Hera. Together they fought the Empire throughout much of the war, and even before the war had truly started.

After an operation to free Wookiees enslaved by the Empire on Kessel, Ezra stole Kanan's lightsaber and returned to his tower. The Jedi noticed this and gave him the choice to join the Ghost's crew and become his apprentice, leaving Lothal and his troubled past behind.
Pilot and leader of the Ghost Crew, Hera is responsible for setting many of the events in motion that became the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance. Without Hera, much of the Rebellion would not have grown to become what it was, even earning the respect of the Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Also, the Sith Lord Ajunta Pall lived on through the Force in such a manner as a Force ghost, though it is relatively unknown how or why he remained. However, it can be speculated that his extreme rage and anger made his presence linger.
