Bob's girlfriend, she is a Soc cheerleader whom Ponyboy meets at the movies. Cherry's real name is Sherri, but people call her Cherry because of her red hair. Ponyboy and Cherry have a great deal in common, and Ponyboy feels comfortable talking to her.
Soda is left by his girlfriend Sandy during the events of the novel. She moves away to Florida, pregnant with another man's child. Despite this, Sodapop still wants to marry her, love her, and take care of her. However, she still leaves him, and Soda is left devastated.
