Is Life on the Line Based on a true story?
This is based on a true story, we are told and dedicated to the safety conscience linemen who died on the job. The film centers on Beau (John Travolta) a lineman, whose sloppy work, through circumstances ends up killing his brother Danny (Ty Olsson).
There is suspense, thrills, action and laughs. Go in not expecting a gold standard but just an entertaining movie and you will enjoy it. All the actors and actresses did a great job to keep the viewer hooked on the edge of the seat until the end.
There's dialogue about suicide and killing dogs with poisoned meat. Language is extremely strong, with uses of f--k," "motherf----r," "bulls--t," "piece of s--t," "a--hole," and more. Characters talk about sex, infidelity, and affairs, and dialogue mentions drinking and drugs.
Parents need to know that this movie has some vulgar humor and some strong language for a PG (there is some obvious overdubbing that indicates that the movie may have been cut down from a PG-13). Characters drink beer and wine.

The filmmakers behind this earnest, heartfelt drama truly want to honor the brave men who do this job, but the movie is packed with cliches and doesn't really grasp the details of hard work. John Travolta dodges downed power lines, but can't escape the clichs.
The characters are working around hills and tall green forests. However, the area east of Lubbock, TX which is shown on the work map is very flat and only some areas with low, rolling hills and no lush forests.
