Three of the boys on the island die before the choir is rescued. Simon is killed by accident because the other boys mistake him for a beast. Piggy is murdered by Roger. An unnamed boy with a mulberry-colored birthmark is killed in the forest fire that is set by Jack and his compatriots during their search for Ralph.
The boys fall on him violently and kill him. The storm explodes over the island. In the whipping rain, the boys run for shelter. Howling wind and waves wash Simon's mangled corpse into the ocean, where it drifts away, surrounded by glowing fish.
Who was the boy that fainted in Lord of the Flies?
Simon is the most mysterious character in Lord of the Flies. He is first introduced as a member of Jack's choir, and he faints when they meet with Ralph and Piggy.
Piggy and Jack go to Jack's camp to get Piggy's glasses back. When Jack and Ralph fight, Roger up the hill dislodges a boulder that falls and hits Piggy and knocks him over the cliff to his death.

Why did Simon get killed?
At the end of Lord of the Flies, most of the boys survive. A littlun goes missing after the group builds a fire that gets out of control, and can be assumed to be dead. Simon gets killed by the group after they mistake him for the beast.
Simon is killed by the other boys on the island in a frenzied attack, mistaking him for the "beast" they fear. After Simon's death, his body is washed out to sea, and the boys continue to descend into savagery and chaos.
Jack does not directly kill anyone in Lord of the Flies. He is part of the frenzy that kills Simon, and one of the boys in his tribe, Roger, kills Piggy. Jack kills two pigs, and he decapitates one of them to leave the head for a peace offering; in doing so, he creates the Lord of the Flies.
Simon awakens and finds the air dark and humid with an approaching storm. His nose is bleeding, and he staggers toward the mountain in a daze. He crawls up the hill and, in the failing light, sees the dead pilot with his flapping parachute.
The Beast. The imaginary beast that frightens all the boys stands for the primal instinct of savagery that exists within all human beings. The boys are afraid of the beast, but only Simon reaches the realization that they fear the beast because it exists within each of them.
The only survivors are boys in their middle childhood or preadolescence. A fair-haired boy named Ralph and a fat boy nicknamed Piggy find a conch shell, which Ralph uses as a horn to gather the survivors. Ralph immediately commands authority over the other boys using the conch, and is elected their "chief".
The next morning, Ralph finds that only Piggy, Samneric, and some littluns remain in his camp. Brooding over the previous night's events, he points out to Piggy that they murdered Simon.
In the final pages of Lord of the Flies , Ralph runs through the jungle fleeing both Jack and his pack of savage boys and the fire Jack set on the mountain. Ralph emerges onto the beach and is discovered by a British Naval officer who has come ashore after seeing the burning island from his ship.
This story never happened. An English schoolmaster, William Golding, made up this story in 1951 – his novel Lord of the Flies would sell tens of millions of copies, be translated into more than 30 languages and hailed as one of the classics of the 20th century. In hindsight, the secret to the book's success is clear.
What was Ralph dreaming about when the twins woke him?
Ralph is dreaming about his old life, feeding sugar to ponies, when he is woken up by the twins. Ralph calls a meeting to discuss the beast. Samneric tell everyone what happened, and the boys decide to go hunting for the beast.
Roger, the character least able to understand the civilizing impulse, crushes the conch shell as he looses the boulder and kills Piggy, the character least able to understand the savage impulse.

Jack's mother defends her son, angering the giantess, and the steward silences Jack's mother, inadvertently killing her. As the giantess leaves in search of Jack, Rapunzel is trampled to death leaving the distraught Witch to mourn ("Witch's Lament").
The head speaks to Simon in the voice of the “Lord of the Flies,” ominously declaring that Simon will never be able to escape him, for he lies within all human beings. He also promises to have some “fun” with Simon. Terrified and troubled by the apparition, Simon collapses in a faint.
Character Analysis Jack. Jack represents evil and violence, the dark side of human nature. A former choirmaster and "head boy" at his school, he arrived on the island having experienced some success in exerting control over others by dominating the choir with his militaristic attitude.
Piggy's death is symbolic of the boys' loss of innocence. Piggy represents all that is rational, civil and intelligent. When he is killed, there is nothing left of civility on the island, and Ralph must face the reality of surviving in the barbaric culture that has taken over the other boys.
Jack snatches the glasses off Piggy's face to create the fire, despite Piggy's protestations, and his dependence upon them. Later, Jack punches Piggy which cause the glasses to fall, smashing one side.
Simon's death presents irony in a few ways, most notably because he is coming down the mountain to prove to the other boys that the beast does not exist, then is mistaken for the beast and killed.
