Producer Jason Blum reiterated that, while it would not be the final film in the series, it will be the last Halloween movie under Blumhouse, with the rights of the film series reverting to producer Malek Akkad following the release of Ends.

What was wrong with Michael Myers in Halloween Ends?
In Halloween Ends, Michael was incredibly weak and lacked the ability to easily kill without help. This would explain why he needed Corey and why he allowed him to leave (explaining the homeless man's shock that Corey left the sewers unscathed).
For starters, one cause as to why Michael never runs may be due to his mind still being present on the night that he killed his sister. If so, that would mean Michael never mentally matured, and he won't chase his victims because the child version of Michael still believes he wouldn't catch them if he ran.

Most of the slashers also had actual reasons to hide their faces, whether it was to disguise a deformity or hide their identity if and when the police came calling.
