But after the two made love in this other realm, Lasher left Rowan to go through a haunting tour of her family lineage. To her horror, Rowan's pregnancy rapidly progressed in this transition, revealing the purpose of the 13th witch in this prophecy: she was the doorway for Lasher to come into the real world.

After the battle in Eyllwe, it is revealed that Maeve led Rowan to believe that Lyria was his mate and then had her and their unborn child killed to break him. His real mate is Aelin, and they were married discreetly by the ship's captain under the witness of Aedion and Lysandra.
Lasher returns to Scotland after Elizabeth I takes the throne, and is killed there while performing Christmas Mass by followers of the protestant reformer John Knox.
Lasher is a spirit tied to the Mayfair family. He is a character of the novel The Witching Hour which takes place in the series Lives of the Mayfair Witches.
