I had lots of FOMO.” In a surprise twist in “Scream 5,” Dewey is done in by Ghostface. It takes place in a hospital after Dewey rescues the new protagonist, Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega). While Dewey has come close to death in the other movies, fans were shocked to see him finished off.
Ghostface proceeded to stab Dewey repeatedly with multiple knives before slicing him open, causing Dewey to rapidly bleed to death. Dewey doesn't look at Ghostface on principle and the last thing he sees is Gale's face on his phone, he's smiling before he dies. As Dewey dies, Ghostface tells him that "it's an honor".
Things don't go as planned for the two, as they both get killed, with Richie getting stabbed and shot by Sam. Scream 2022 follows in the franchise's tradition, providing wall-to-wall bloodshed, and this sizable slate of Scream 2022 kills proves that it does a tremendous job.

To make the impact effective, the film needed to sacrifice its legacy character, who died in the line of duty facing Ghostface, which circles back to Dewey's role since 1996's Scream. Scream also showed that anyone could die to challenge the implications of the central characters being immortal to Ghostface.
“Scream 6” rides the momentum of the previous film and ups the ante in every way. It's funnier, scarier and much much bloodier. If you aren't a fan of gore, walk into this film with some caution. The kills are more frequent and take up more screen time than ever before.
Scream VI has been released – but, sadly for fans, it's the first one without Neve Campbell. Campbell, who had played Sidney Prescott in every Scream film to date, announced in June 2021 she had quit the sixth instalment as she wasn't getting paid what she thought she deserved.
Campbell hasn't ultimately said goodbye to Sidney and the Scream movies, so if the studio agrees to pay her fairly, it's likely she would return as a character for Scream 7. New characters might be at the center of the current Scream story, but Campbell will always be the face of the franchise.
Anika's ladder death in Scream 6 will be remembered as one of the most memorable deaths in the franchise due to its graphic violence and emotional impact, as she was killed by her supposed friend. Chad is one of the "Core Four" group members featured in Scream 2022 and, at one point in the film, was considered a suspect as the new Ghostface. However, Chad himself is later attacked by the masked killer, thought to have bled to death until the end of the film, where it's revealed he survived.
They flee upstairs and barricade themselves in Quinn's room. Mindy goes into Quinn's bathroom only to walk in on a literal bloodbath. The dead body of Paul, Quinn's hookup, lay contorted in the bathtub, giving Mindy a scare.
Charlie may have been the least likely suspect, and that's exactly how he (almost) got away with it. However, Charlie was also one of the weakest of all the Ghostfaces. Not only was he killed almost immediately by his accomplice (more on her later), but each of his kills was sloppier than the last.
Characterization. Ghostface is rarely depicted as speaking while physically on screen in order to aid in concealing the identity of the character behind the mask. Exceptions to this are grunts and groans when injured, which are dubbed into the film during the editing phase by Jackson.
Well, the Scream 6 trailer sets up two major clues – the first being a sinister shrine to the many Ghostfaces that came before; the battered mask of the latest one clearly suggests that it belonged to a serial stabber, however, none of the mannequins on show are masked.
