He was first inherited by Marcel Galliard, The friend of Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie, but was eaten by Titan Ymir to save Reiner's life, then she was eaten by Porco, Marcel's younger brother and he was eaten by Titan Falco while He was trying to eat Reiner.
Reiner and Bertolt immediately recognize her as the Titan which ate Marcel. Later, in a forest, Bertolt expresses concern over whether they can trust Ymir and reminds Reiner of Marcel's death at her hands.

As a last resort Reiner transferred his consciousness to his body's nervous system and then Bertholdt flipped Reiner over so he could regenerate without his weak spot open and be attacked again.
Reiners armour was created for a time period that was long gone, and so its only natural that advancements in technology would be capable to harm reiner's armour. His armour isn't suited for battles any longer. The whole purpose of the armoured titan is to provide protection.
