Sole survivors Zoey (Taylor Russell) and Ben (Logan Miller) escaped and killed the Game Master before planning to expose Minos entirely after learning their base of operations is in Manhattan. Zoey has been in therapy following the ordeal with the last escape room.

Zoey and Ben actually survive the ordeal, but it doesn't end there. Zoey returns to the site with the police, but there's nothing there. There are no remains of the rooms. She only stares at the wall where a graffiti drawing reads "No Way Out," and she associates the phrase with one of the escape rooms.
If they do not make it out of this room, acid rain is periodically sprayed on them. The group opens a taxi to escape into but once Zoey enters, the taxi locks Rachel and Brianna out. Zoey falls into the next room while Rachel and Brianna succumb to the rain and die.

Why escape room 2 has two endings?
Not only does the Escape Room 2 alternate ending reduce the near-supernatural omnipotence of Minos effectively by making the movie more about Claire, but it also very directly sets up the antagonist for Escape Room 3.
Zoey manages to have survived by taking an oxygen mask from the hospital bed and connecting its tubing through one of the openings created by the disabled cameras. Feigning death when two cleaners enter Room #4 to remove evidence, Zoey incapacitates them and flees.
Holland Roden plays punk-rock Rachel Ellis, one of the champions that Zoey and Ben meets in the subway. She reveals almost the end of the movie that she was born with microdeletion in one of her genes which affects sensation and causing her not to feel physical pain.
It's especially gutwrenching when you hear a despaired Brianna begin to sob how she doesn't want to die, with Rachel calmly urging her to "not give them the satisfaction" of a show and to Face Death with Dignity. As the acid rain begins to fall onto her, you hear Brianna scream in agony as the acid burns her alive.
When her mother Sonya said that she was getting her help by sending her away, Claire murdered her in the sauna. Claire ultimately traps her father in her old room and kills him.

The other participants were unable to save Danny as there was a current flowing through the water, pushing him away from the hole in the ice, and they were all too cold to survive any rescue attempt. Danny ultimately drowned while the others escaped to the next room without him.
The trio break out of Minos and report all they know to the police. Unfortunately, as Zoey and Ben head home on a plane, they discover that the plane is just another escape room and sleeping gas fills the cabin as the movie ends. That's the theatrical version, anyway.
Logan Miller: I definitely think that Ben has a true love for Zoey in a friendship way but also potentially in a romantic way. We maybe explore that a little bit in the movie, but then it gets to a point where we get thrown into the lion's den pretty rapidly, so there isn't really much space to explore that.

The kicker, though, is that the Gamemaster isn't actually the film's big villain. Just before he attacks Ben, the Gamemaster reveals he's merely a pawn, and that the final level boss is actually someone called the Puzzle Builder.
Jason then attacked Ben and the two fought over the antidote. For all his talk about survival of the fittest, Jason failed to seize the antidote and Ben killed him by bashing his head against the wall.
