Princess Leia is a character in the Star Wars franchise. Raised on the planet Alderaan, she later becomes a leader in the Rebel Alliance. While waging war against the Galactic Empire, she falls in love with Han Solo and discovers that Luke Skywalker is her twin brother.
It was during these quiet moments that Princess Leia fell in love with Han Solo. Darth Vader captured Han Solo on Cloud City, and forced Leia to watch as Solo was frozen in carbonite and handed over to the bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
Han becomes jealous when he notices Leia having a private conversation with Luke and thinks they might have romantic feelings for one another. She assures him the conversation was about Luke learning that she is his sister, but the jealousy alone is enough for Leia to know that her love for Han is reciprocated.
In the Star Wars universe, Han Solo and Leia Organa do end up together as a couple after the events of The Empire Strikes Back. In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Han initially considers distancing himself from Leia because he believes she has romantic feelings for Luke Skywalker.
During the Battle of Yavin, however, when Vader almost succeeds in killing Luke - Han saved him - after this Leia's opinion of Han changed - and they slowly fell in love with each other. Leia and Han developed a relationship that would last throughout the war.

While Return of the Jedi would ultimately reveal them to be siblings, A New Hope implied Luke's attraction to Leia throughout, while the two kissed multiple times in The Empire Strikes Back, with further romantic moments ending up on the cutting room floor, as seen in the movie's deleted scenes.
