The twist that somebody was 'alive all along' is an overdone one in horror, and it really felt like the theatrical version didn't move things along and ended in exactly the same place. This alternate cut at least expands the mythology of Minos and offers an interesting tease for the future.

Zoey and Claire succeed in fighting Claire's father off and they save Ben. Claire locks the Minos employees inside the control room, and suggests Zoey report her findings to the police. After Zoey escapes to the original location where she finds Ben in an ambulance, it is revealed that Claire was evil all along.
Amanda tells her to not believe anyone is dead until she sees it with her own eyes, and learns than Ben didn't die in the quicksand but was taken to use as leverage to force Zoey to design games, too.

It's especially gutwrenching when you hear a despaired Brianna begin to sob how she doesn't want to die, with Rachel calmly urging her to "not give them the satisfaction" of a show and to Face Death with Dignity. As the acid rain begins to fall onto her, you hear Brianna scream in agony as the acid burns her alive.
Zoey has been in therapy following the ordeal with the last escape room. She and Ben have tried to make trips to Manhattan, but Zoey has been too terrified to fly, and she is still haunted by witnessing people like Amanda (Deborah Ann Woll) die during the last “game”.
Zoey manages to have survived by taking an oxygen mask from the hospital bed and connecting its tubing through one of the openings created by the disabled cameras. Feigning death when two cleaners enter Room #4 to remove evidence, Zoey incapacitates them and flees.
While the resolution of both versions come down to Zoey (re)discovering her agency, the Extended Cut recontextualizes what audiences know about Manos and establishes an exciting new direction for future sequels in a way that the Theatrical Cut doesn't.

His true identity is unknown, but he works for the people responsible for creating the escape room death maze that is the focus of the film. His job is to operate the various traps of the maze and monitor the progress of the participants.

There are two movies and an extended cut; you can watch them in any order. We recommend the first film in the series if you are looking for a good escape room movie. However, if you are only interested in watching an escape room movie for seeing one, the second film is worth watching.
Here's what escape room theory has for the case: One puzzle should lead to another, in most cases. The alignment is not always linear. But for the most parts, when you discover a new item or a clue, you may immediately apply it to another riddle in the room.
Logan Miller: I definitely think that Ben has a true love for Zoey in a friendship way but also potentially in a romantic way. We maybe explore that a little bit in the movie, but then it gets to a point where we get thrown into the lion's den pretty rapidly, so there isn't really much space to explore that.
