First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him―and I didn't know how potent that part might be―that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
While Edward's obsession with Bella doesn't make a lot of sense, Bella's obsession with Edward is explained in the story by the fact that vampires are compelling and beautiful to attract their prey. So, while Bella is weak to this fact, it's still disturbing that she was so willing to give up her family for him.

During this story she has an attempted kidnapping by the Volturi, resulting her in being put in a coma. Her parents rescue her and make she the coma is reversed. Renesmee is constantly worrying that the Volturi are after her and this forced her to grow up faster than Chantelle or even Eddie.
