After Dracula learns of this plot against him, he takes revenge by visiting - and biting - Mina at least three times. Dracula also feeds Mina his own blood, dooming her to become a vampire should she die.
Count Dracula is drawn to Mina because of her purity and innocence. His plan to move to London and make it his new feeding ground places him in a reverse colonial position. He will gradually destroy Victorian norms by turning ladies like Mina into ravenous, lustful creatures like his Transylvanian brides.
Dracula forces Min to drink his blood in an effort to connect him to her and to overpower her with the intentions of killing her. Why it matters: This scene demonstrates the lack of identity Dracula has as well as the control he fights for.
With Mina, Dracula is found forcing Mina to suck Dracula's own blood from a cut in his abdomen. This, also highly sexually-suggestive, creates a bond between the two that can only be broken by Dracula's true death.

Did Mina actually love Dracula?
Not only does Mina utilize her sexual prowess to seduce and stun Van Helsing as he races to destroy Dracula's castle, but her love for Dracula literally gives her the ability to summon storms to block the sun.
Which is exactly what Van Helsing and his Vampire Killers do to Lucy in the film. Lucas was spot on. The rules were right there on the screen. In order for Mina to give Dracula peace, she has to cut off his head with the Bowie knife she had plunged through his heart.
In Stoker's original novel, Mina Harker recovers from the vampire's curse upon Dracula's death and lives on to marry Jonathan. However, in some media, Mina is killed at some point in the story, while in others, she becomes a full vampire and keeps her powers after the death of Dracula.

Instead, he was constantly fed the empty promise of eternal life and used by Dracula to complete any and every task he placed before him. Eventually, this abuse made way for Renfield to regain his consciousness, which he used to save Mina Harker and defend himself against his master.
The novel ends with a final battle in which the men seize Count Dracula's coffin. Harker cuts Dracula's head off while Morris stabs him in the heart. Dracula's body crumbles into dust, signaling that he is finally defeated, and that Mina is no longer in danger.
Evidently, Van Helsing has deduced the reason why Dracula came to England: Dracula's own country is so "barren of people" that he came to England, a place where life is rich and flourishing; he is now returning to his native soil to escape discovery.
Largely Lucy is chosen for her beauty and purity which directly counters the ideas of vampirisms. Choosing her serves as a symbol of corruption of good, and her repressed sexual desires further fuel Dracula to make her his first English victim.
None of the romantic scenes between Mina and Dracula appeared in the book either, such as when they meet outside the movie house and when they drink absinthe together. Mina was never intended to be Dracula's love interest; she was madly in love with Jonathan Harker.
In these chapters, Mina stands ready as the count's next victim. When she writes that “sleep begins to flirt with me,” we know that it is Dracula—not sleep—that is seducing her during the night.
