While River Song openly admits to being in love with The Doctor, The Doctor does not admit to loving her in return… at least, not verbally. However, he is more physically affectionate towards her than any regular companions, and, most notably, he actually marries her.

The thing about River Song is that her timeline is in reverse of the Doctor's timeline. So, when the Doctor met her for the first time, she had known and loved him for many years, and when she met the Doctor for the first time, the Doctor had known and loved her for many years.

The girl is later seen regenerating in New York City, 1970. In "A Good Man Goes to War," it is learned that River is Amy and Rory's daughter Melody. She was conceived in the TARDIS and has Time Lord DNA. Baby Melody is kidnaped by Madame Kovarian (Frances Barber) to become a weapon against the Doctor.
