They return to Daystrom and recover Worf, Raffi, and the synthetic being, which Geordi reactivates. Data reveals that the Changelings stole Picard's original body, which died of the neurological disease Irumodic Syndrome; Picard's mind was transferred into his own synthetic body.
Kirk's corpse is stored in Daystrom Station just like Admiral Jean-Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewart) remains after he received a new synthetic body. But there is the possibility Kirk's body could also be a seed planted for the future.

Why is Picard so much better than Discovery?
Discovery is more action-oriented and features a host of new species and planets. Picard, on the other hand, lines up more with its parent show, The Next Generation. It's far more cerebral, and it gives us more fan service and nostalgia with characters like Q, Guinan, and the Borg Queen.
