In both the book and the movie, there wasn't enough time for the venom to reach Harry's heart, Fawkes heals him before that. In the book, Fawkes flies to Harry instantly, it doesn't lose anytime. Fawkes heals Harry before Harry stabs the diary. In fact it is Fawkes who brings the diary to Harry.
Harry wasn't petrified or killed by the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets because he was able to look at the Basilisk indirectly through Nearly Headless Nick's ghost and later through a reflection in a polished surface. Since he didn't make direct eye contact with the Basilisk, he was not affected by its deadly gaze.
Harry Potter was wounded by the venom and would have died if Dumbledore's phoenix Fawkes hadn't shed healing tears upon him, but the fact that he was healed also prevented the Horcrux inside him from being destroyed.

Did everyone know Harry killed the Basilisk?
Ron, Mrs/Mr Weasley, McGonagall, Ginny, Dumbledore, and Harry were in the room when Harry explained how he had killed the Basilisk. Hermione probably knows since she figured out the Basilisk, so I guess she's gonna hear Harry killed it later. That gives us just a handful of people.
As a Parselmouth, Harry can easily communicate with Basilisk but I don't think he could controlled it as if he has the Basilisk under his will (or make it loyal to him) but more like he can influenced its behavior and take advantage to defeat it. Yes. Harry could have controlled the snake with Parseltongue.
Saw the Basilisk directly, but as a ghost he could not die again, so thus was only Petrified. Saw the Basilisk through the ghost of Sir Nicholas, who was transparent, did not see the Basilisk directly.

Why didn't Tom Riddle make the Basilisk a Horcrux?
Why didn't Voldemort make Basilisk a horcrux? Only he could call it, thus keeping it safe forever. The Basilisk was a giant creature, longer and bigger than two adult Anacondas combined. Voldemort couldn't have it around all the time like Nagini (his snake Horcrux.)
