Daisy does not want to be seen attending Gatsby's funeral because she does care about her reputation, despite the fact that she has never loved Tom. As a result, she makes the decision to abstain out of concern that she will damage both her connection with Tom and her standing in the eyes of the general public.
Although Fitzgerald does not place Daisy there at the funeral, there is a lot of evidence that shows she might have wished to be there, and that she felt sorry about Gatsby's death.
A distraught George traveled to Gatsby's mansion in West Egg and shot Gatsby dead before turning the weapon on himself. Soon after Gatsby's murder, Daisy, Tom, and their daughter departed East Egg, leaving no forwarding address.
In The Great Gatsby, Daisy does not call Nick after Gatsby's death due to her desire to avoid being associated with Gatsby, her absence from town, and her fear of making Tom angry.

Realizing that Gatsby is not made of old money and has illegally acquired his wealth, Daisy begins to lose interest in Gatsby and remains loyal to Tom.
In chapter 5 of The Great Gatsby, Daisy cries "stormily" over Gatsby's shirts because his wardrobe proves his wealth, and she recognizes that she missed out on the opportunity to marry him and likely regrets settling for Tom.
Here we finally get a glimpse at Daisy's real feelings—she loved Gatsby, but also Tom, and to her those were equal loves. She hasn't put that initial love with Gatsby on a pedestal the way Gatsby has.
Yet Daisy isn't just a shallow gold digger. She's more tragic: a loving woman who has been corrupted by greed. She chooses the comfort and security of money over real love, but she does so knowingly.
She betrays him by being her cowardly self. She tried once to stand up for her love of him when they first met, but her life is more complicated now with an aggressive, domineering husband and a child. She doesn't have any support -other than Nick, her distant cousin, to help her do the right thing.
The death of Gatsby is significant because it symbolizes the loss of the American dream, not only for Gatsby but also for the other main characters, as well.
In both book and movie, Gatsby is waiting for a phone call from Daisy, but in the film, Nick calls, and Gatsby gets out of the pool when he hears the phone ring. He's then shot, and he dies believing that Daisy was going to ditch Tom and go way with him.
She is capable of affection (she seems genuinely fond of Nick and occasionally seems to love Gatsby sincerely), but not of sustained loyalty or care. She is indifferent even to her own infant daughter, never discussing her and treating her as an afterthought when she is introduced in Chapter 7.
Why can't Nick get anyone to come to Gatsby's funeral? Gatsby had no close friends. Klipspringer says he'll try to go, but probably won't come. He says he's staying with some people up in Greenwich and there's a picnic tomorrow so he should go with them.
This is at the very end of the novel. Of the late Gatsby, Tom says, “That fellow had it coming to him. He threw dust in your eyes just like he did in Daisy's….” And that's why it matters that Nick is gay and in love with Gatsby: because Tom's assessment is spot-on, but Nick will never admit it.
Why does Daisy cry when she sees all of Gatsby's material wealth?
Daisy does need the wealth. Through the symbol of the English shirts, Daisy states the reason she is crying to Gatsby by explaining, "It makes me sad because I have never seen such - such beautiful shirts before" (Fitzgerald 98).

This line works on a few different thematic levels at the end of the novel: It sums up the story of the novel, as Gatsby has been trying to work hard enough to both erase and reclaim his past with Daisy; he is unable to do either.
Pamela ”Pammy“ Buchanan is a minor character of F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel The Great Gatsby. She is the daughter of Tom and Daisy Buchanan, and cousin removed of Nick Carraway. In the 1974 movie, Pammy plays a slightly larger role and appears more frequently.

Nick is left to organise Gatsby's funeral. Daisy and Tom have left town. Wolfshiem refuses to come. Hundreds of people attended Gatsby's parties but no-one comes to his funeral apart from Nick, Gatsby's father, and some servants.
Gatsby's decision to take the blame for Daisy demonstrates the deep love he still feels for her and illustrates the basic nobility that defines his character. Disregarding her almost capricious lack of concern for him, Gatsby sacrifices himself for Daisy.
