Loki takes his place as the God of Stories and holds the timelines together, forming a tree-like time structure (AKA Yggdrasil). This also means that for the rest of time, Loki will be alone, but also will oversee his family and friends forever.
In the finale of season 2 of Loki, Loki destroys the Temporal Loom and uses his magic to revive the dying timelines. He commits himself to a fate of solitude, sitting alone at the End of Time to watch over the multiverse.
Loki is not only forced into a throne he doesn't want, but is condemned to eternal loneliness as he watches over all of time. Loki has to watch the worlds pass him by while he sits on his throne at the end of time, forced into eternal solitude in order to save the multiverse and his friends.
In perhaps the MCU's most bittersweet ending since Avengers: Endgame, Loki finally got the two things he's always claimed he wanted—a throne, and to serve his glorious purpose—in the most devastating way possible.
Loki goes back to the loom, transforming into the god we all know and (sometimes) love, and destroys it as his friends look on, telling them he knows what type of god he needs to be. He finds himself entangled among the branches, physically gathering them and pulling them with him as he becomes the god of time.

Here, holding on to all of the timelines, he became a kind of tree god, physically representing the Norse tree of life, Yggdrasil. It was a poignant and painful ending for Loki, who now seems to be sentenced to being alone for eternity as he watches over the timelines.
Loki decides to travel back to when the Temporal Loom was shutting down and replace himself with Victor Timely. Instead of trying to save it, he destroys it and he slowly transforms into the God of Stories. The timelines start to die out, but using his powers, he brings them all back to life one by one.
The spell was permanent, making it so Loki only reverted to having blue skin when touching a Frost Giant or one of their artifacts. Since Loki's appearance was a spell, not just an illusion, it could not be broken or reversed by Odin's death.
After a moment of understandable shock and pained anguish, Loki ominously broke out in a fit of laughter. The main reason for Loki's laugh can be summed by an old adage: If you don't laugh, you'll cry. In a matter of moments, Loki learned that the sum total of his schemes and betrayals equaled absolutely nothing.
Odin takes Thor's hammer Mjølnir and uses it to channel a burst of Odinforce that broke apart Thor's armor and pushed him into the Bifrost. After Loki angrily yelled at his adoptive father for not informing him of his true nature, Odin collapsed in shock.
But despite all the chaos Loki might have created, all the things he has ever done, one thing is certain. Loki absolutely, without out a shred of doubt loves his mother. Many things can be said about him, but his heart do not lie. He loves Lady Freya.

But if you're wondering how he's even alive, we have the details you need to know. Loki is a Trickster, and he's very good at what he does. From his first MCU appearance in 2011's Thor, Loki revealed his ability to create duplicates of himself and fake his death.
He has friends, not merely people he manipulates. And if he doesn't act they will all die too. And so Loki finally finds his glorious purpose — he sacrifices himself to save the universe, but more importantly to save the people he has come to care about.
By saving and organizing every existing timeline, Loki has become the God of Time — a higher being who keeps the past, present, and future of every universe from being erased by outside forces. However, Loki has also become the God of Stories, as he has placed everybody's personal journey above his own.
Before he dies, Classic Loki laughs deliriously and shouts, "Glorious purpose!" Considering he's about to die, the move seems odd, but it's actually clearly rooted in Classic Loki's Marvel journey.
This perceived weakness that causes Loki's villainy stems from his childhood and the reveal of his heritage that made Loki assume Odin did not love him. This was disproven in Thor: Ragnarok when Loki finally accepted he was Odin's son and turned the corner into an MCU hero.

Loki was born smaller than the rest of the frost giants. Odin puts a spell on him making him look Asgardian. The TVA prevents magic from being using while inside. Since Loki's appearance was changed before entering the TVA he maintains his Asgardian appearance.
In the Loki season 2 finale, Loki becomes a living embodiment of Yggdrasil. In Norse mythology, the tree holds all Nine Realms together, controlling all life and death. In the MCU, this is redefined to hold all of the multiverse, with Loki now at its center – making him the literal God of Time.
Stepping into the Citadel at the End of Time, Loki and Sylvie meet He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a version of time-hopping comic villain Kang the Conqueror. In the comics, Kang is a baddy from the 31st century who has faced off against the Avengers many times (and in many incarnations) since his 1960s debut.
Rather than Yggdrasil holding the realms of the cosmos together in the MCU, Loki rewrote this story by placing the World Tree as central to the multiverse. Yggdrasil is now vital to the expansion of the multiverse with Loki at its center, holding together the branches of the expanding timelines.
